Sticky Z button!?

I destroy my controllers in the weirdest way. On my last 3 64 controllers the Z button has permanently stuck down. It still registers if you hit it but it feels really weird and even messes up my timing. I'm going to conclude that it happens since I probably hit z 3 times more than the average player (massive double jump canceling and parrying).

Anyone know how I fix this ****? Can I just open it up and fix it?

Yeah. Open up your controller - the little rubber pad under the z button that it presses against might be popped under - and you might just have to push on it to go back the other way and it'll be a simple fix. If not, it may just be a little gunky and need to be wiped off. It should be an easy fix. Even if you can't fix it, you won't hurt anything. Just make sure not to strip the 2 small screws in the controller pak area - they are smaller then the other 7 screws.

sometimes when my r button gets soft after a while i reinforce the piece that the rubber pad under the R sits on with a small piece of a notecard folded over once. that may work to put pressure on the z button so it has more resistance.
