Sticky Controller Buttons

Hi. I have a problem. My GCN controllers A and Z buttons are starting to stick. In fact when it sticks it has a problem unsticking so when I'm in a battle, my character will keep attacking when I don't want him too. Is there any way to solve this sticking problem? Should I just get a brand new controller and hope that it doesn't stick either?

open it up with a tri wing screwdriver and clean it?

or you could use a eyeglass tool to open it. thats what i just used to cosmetically modify my controller...peace
