Stickers Will Have no Use in STANDARD Brawl!

One word I'd like to say...Special Brawl! With the announcement that stcickers will actually be useful in the recent Dojo update, I think it's pretty safe to assume that they will not have any use in standard Brawl (just incase people don't believe the Dojo i.e. Ness fans...that was just a joke btw). I'm pretty disappointed by this because the Japanese exclusive game Jump Ultimate/Super Stars has this feature where you could use these illustrations to power up your character.

Now, is all hope lost??? I think now. You see, Masahiro Sakurai has thought of everything, so I'd assume he has thought of this as well. I think that there will be a special mode where you can Brawl with your friends in multiplayer, and using these stickers. See, what else the stickers may do is balance characters. If ceratin characters are really horrible on the tournament scene, the community can come up with standards to increase certain characters stats and bring them up to par with those un-balanced characters!

No matter, when AR comes out for the Wii, if this feature is excluded, I will indeed go buy one!

It won't happen.

The "standard Brawl" thing is just the American translation. In the original Japanese it says

対戦には使えませんので、あしからず。
Don't worry, because it can't be used in "versus combat" (which means any game between players [or characters for that matter])

I'd be fine with it as a special mode. But it's a fighting game, for normal matches you shouldn't be able to edit your fighters attributes, it'd be way to easy to overpower them.

R.M.B. were else?
I doubt it will happen, cause for one characters will be more balanced, we wont need this for them this time around.(hopefully) two, this feature would take a very tedious amout of time in multiplayer, it would suck to have to set them up every time you play someone knew.(who hasnt already made their setup). plus stickers are limited, so it might end up being unfair in multiplayer.(or inevitably would already be).

What if you can save and/or send your edited character? It would be interesting if the tourney scene adopted some basic rules for sticker use and then made that the standard. Would allow for more personalized styles which is always good and may suffer a bit due to online play and it would bring the battle to a secondary level since you never know exactly how your opponent is customized.

Still, if this feature was in Melee, maybe character like G&W would have been viable in tournaments.

It's rather insulting when people talk about Jump Ultimate Stars and Super Smash Bros. in one breath. While they do have their similarities, JUS is a terribly broken fighting game, and I laugh at the thought of trying to play it competitively. In one episode of SMYN, all they did was talk about JUS for like a million years and I was like ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

But uh... yeah, setting aside all that, I wouldn't mind having a VS mode that allows you to fight each other with sticker power-ups. It's unlikely that this kind of mode will be available, and it's even more unlikely that the tournament scene will utilize it, but it'd be nice to have.

Eh, honestly I think it would be fun to have a special mode where you can use the stickers. It's not really motivational to collect stickers and arrange them/use them right if you can't demonstrate your efforts to others. One possibility is that they will make SSE so hard that the stickers will actually matter, but if SSE can be beaten easily without stickers (assuming there are no excellent sticker related bonuses), and if you can't demonstrate the power of your customized characters in any kind of vs. battle, then the stickers are practically back to being the useless collectibles that we thought they were.

If its found to be exploitable im sure people will just cheat with them probably making quick character like sonic have enough knockback in their attacks to one hit KO anyone.

should be full of lul.

Um, I'm sorry? If you actually take the time to play anime games, you would realize that some are pretty good, if not AS GOOD as Smash.

Some examples are Guilty Gear and Melty Blood. There's so many more, but I don't really feel like listing them all. :p

PS - For the record, JUS is actually a really fun game, as broken as it is, and IMO stickers in VS mode for Brawl is a really, really bad idea. Saying that giving stickers to one character to make them playable in tournaments is an even worse idea. :p

It's not the fact that it's an anime game, the game is a quality one. Besides, this would merely be a bonus mode. It would be cool to take several stcikers on your Wiimote. I think it would be best limited to 4 stickers though per a character.

Stickers would be cool I guess in a special brawl mode, but not used in any other mode whatsoever but SSE, and I'm one of the players that play with no items and FD only. How can you guys say a sticker versus mode wouldnt be fun???

think of it this way. I have 1 ultra powerful sticker, my freind thinks his main should get it and i want my main to have it. Since they wont be competing im sure an agreement will be easier to decide.

Another thing you're forgetting is that those stickers are one use only.

Sounds too complicated, along with all the other crap that's been flying around today.

Yeah.

Flying.

Guilty Gear is not an anime game, kiddo.

Action Replay doesn't work on the Wii now. Nintendo had blocked it by using firmwire updates.
