Smash Wii U Stick sensetivity

Hey guys! I'd love to get into Sm4sh, but there's just one problem...

What's with the stick sensetivity? Just casually moving the stick one way or the other makes me dash. I can't move normally, and can't tilt consistently without C-tilt.

In Melee, I had to *tap* the stick to dash. I just bought a new controller, could that be why? Or am I just doomed to hate this game?

Using c-stick for tilts is fine it's actually more optimal. Also for walking i only move it slightly in the direction. But really the walking will probably just come down to practice.
