This room has been in existence for a while and it's time to reflect.

-We had a pool of roughly 30-40 voters for the ruleset creation, which is a bit on the small side but large enough for decent representation. Poll results are (in most cases) something to take into account for TOs and the project was succesful to the extent that SmashNL (the Dutch governing body, so to speak) will use the ruleset for big events.

-Discussion has been fairly onesided. I honestly have trouble recommending anyone to the BBR at the moment that isn't already in. The BBR is looking for leaders who contribute intelligently on a regular basis. I've seen very few people step it up.

-There was demand for a European SBR, but this room relies for 90% on moderator initiative.

-This room is for both Melee and Brawl, but pretty much only Brawl is discussed.

I'll finish the ruleset project, but I'm not going to force feed activity into this room after that. The moderating team has a facilitating purpose for the most part, but not much can be done if it's unclear what people want. Everyone can start discussion back here, everyone can suggest projects to work on. If there's enough demand for a European Brawl tier list, it's doable. If the Melee crowd wants to reconsider certain things, that's also doable. Just speak up.

Alright, we can take a stab at that after Pound 4, because I want to involve several of the people going and we'll need some time for discussion and voting. I'll probably have a plan up soon.

I made a start on this in the MBR, but we are just too few europeans to actually pull it through (there was almost no feedback).
Which is why I want to do it the same way as last time... have the top players of each European community vote. Even if they're not on SWF (much), I know I can reach them for votes.

Make an EBBR or something similar to the SBR that everyone can see. Then make a seperate room for everyone to critisize w/e is posted in the EBBR.

Welcome to the all new European competitive talk room!

As you might have guessed, this room is meant for in-depth discussion about Melee, Brawl and the European smash scene. While access isn’t restricted, intelligent discussion will be promoted and this room will see more heavy moderation than for example the social room.

We need to bring Europe closer together, through better communication and more international events. This room is a great place for discussing the possibilities and (potential) problems. I imagine rulesets will be a major (and controversial) topic and having a standard for big events would be great.

The second purpose of this room is to select capable Europeans to join the Smash Back Room (SBR). We’re looking for people that are intelligant debaters, good tournament players and/or influential tournament hosts. The goal is to draft roughly two people every two months.
Source: Introduction

March last year when the European section was reorganized, although the thread is outdated regarding the BBR members and doesn't include the MBR members.

I just updated it for BBR members.

I can be somewhat candid regarding the MBR... I was asked to take on a similar role as I currently have in the BBR, but am only allowed one room. I went with the more active, relevant one (depite preferring Melee), so I'll have to do some research to find out which Europeans are actually in the MBR right now. If anyone has a list, please send it to me.

I'd definitely like for European presence to be stronger in the Back Rooms, but we need more proactive, intelligent posters. I'm not going to add Europeans just because they're European.

For the Melee Back Room this list should be quite accurate:
  • Marc
  • Utto
  • Slhoka
  • Samochan
  • Luma
  • Amsah
  • (and myself)

Doraki and Helios are still BR members but they do not post.

Doraki and Helios aren't in the BR anymore.

I think you didn't forget anyone.
