Starting a waveshine sequence?

So I've been playing my friend (he plays as link), who is pretty simple to waveshine due to his long recovery for some moves, such as his up B or grab. no problem there. But when I play other guys who don't play as link and don't have a bad recovery time, I can't really find an opening very often. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any help

Well, if you live anywhere near the St. Louis area, you can come to one of my smashfests and I can give you specific tips. Otherwise, here is some general advice: dashdance just outside of range of their farthest-ranged attack (i.e. Shiek's dash attack or fox's short hop nair or Samus's wavedash forward>forward tilt.), but dd (dashdance) so that the majority of the time, you're outside their range, but you step inside it momentarily, baiting them in. When they attack, wavedash back, causing them to miss and punish with a waveshine or drill-shine (shffl'd dair>shine). Also, if you're wanting to play aggressively, at low %'s, you can nair>shine>waveshine(s)>many other moves (i.e. up smash or grab). At mid-high %'s, approach with a drill shine and the effect is the same. Fox's dair just has less knockback, so you can pillar it at higher %'s.

SHFFL'd Dairs! Nairs at low % against heavier characters. Also if your at low % bait with a crouch cancel. More advanced technique would be Shine OoS. All that being said fox is so fast if you wait for the right moment you'd be surprised how well just running up and shining can be.

Running up and shining is sometimes the difference between good fox players and worse fox players. The better foxes are the ones that don't do it.
