You guys know about the ike vs Kirby/DDD inhale glitch trick right?

Well me and my friends held a tournament in my house, and the rare event happened.

1 stock each DDD at 140+ percent, Ike at a low percentage, DDD at the edge and he is Inhaling, with ike charging his attack.

since the score was tied 2-2, neither one wanted to let go of the button. I had no idea what to do. So basically i asked them to give up and we made a new game, one stock, special brawl 300 percent. Basically, Sudden Death.

Was this a good idea?

don't you already have a rule for time?

just let time run out and award a winner based on whatever your rule is (most likely lower % wins, so ike wins)

forcing sudden death is an awful idea - if time ran out and you had no standard rule for ties, you would've gone to sudden death anyway, so you should have let it play out

We never put time. That was the problem.

We dont believe in timed matches because we never thought something like this would happen.

Hmmm...maybe you should have given this win to Ike....that or make a new match and make it 1 stock but i dont think SD was the right move here....

Out of curiosity, who won the SD?

As a precaution, you should have 8:00 time limit on stocked matches.

I would have done this:
Grabbed a watch, or a Timer.
And would have said: "You guys have 60 seconds to finish the match, or else the one with the lowest % wins."
Ike will of course continue holding the button because he only ha to endure.
D3 will have to stop sucking, and try to either beat up Ike's % or rather kill him since hes good at that.
When he stops, Ike will of course let go of the button.
D3 has to either dodge or shield.
You might say that if he screws up, that it would be unfair since he had to let go of the button.
But that isn't unfair, that totaly fair.
Because D3 got beat up that much by Ike in the first place.
If his % was as low as the one of Ike, he wouldn't die.
So in my opinion, thats the best and fairest way to end the match.
Sudden Death is too fair for D3 since its basicly equal chances.
And since you don't like using time upon the match from the beginning, thats the best way to solve it.
Oh and forgot something.
When the from the 60 secs 50 are over just keep staring at the % doing a countdown in your head. (If it ticks, you can even hold it to your ear.)
And if its even then not able to tell(since the % were pretty equal then) who was higher or lower since they still continued fighting after your time limit(which is normal in a fierce battle), then you can do a sudden death. Because its equal like it was when you ended the match.
I hope this helps, this idea just came up in my mind.
