Stamina mode max HP and/or Stocks

Another question more for the PMBR

Is there any chance this is something you guys could work on/are working on?

I find that the max HP level in stamina mode is WAY too low and matches are way too short, so playing stamina mode usually sucks. I was thinking by simply adding the option to increase the HP past 300 or whatever it is now, it would make stamina mode a lot more fun. If you could have longer stamina battles I think more people would play stamina (not competitively, but just for fun). I feel like this would be relatively easy to change so it would be worth doing.

Something a bit more complicated perhaps which could also add to making stamina much better, is adding stocks in stamina mode. If you could do this on top of changing the HP number, it would lengthen battles even more, and would create lots of new fun ways to play smash bros in a not conventional way.

Yeah, I'm not sure why vanilla Brawl didn't let you do stocks in Stamina mode. That always felt really weird. O_o

I'd love it if the PMBR did this, even though stamina mode is kind of a silly, imbalanced thing.

Yeah i agree.. Basically i just feel like this would be pretty easy to mod, which makes it worth adding as an extra little perk. It certainly would be easier to create than turbo mode!

If stocks were in stamina mode, how would the defeated corpse of the first fighter to die get off the stage and reset? If the opponent dies on stage, I don't want to feel obligated to throw them away in order to bring them back. Even though it sounds hilarious.

Actually they could use the same GFX as when enemies appear on screen in SSE to make a body disappear when someone dies, and then respauning would just work the same way as in a normal stock battle after the body has disappeared.

But again, if that is too complicated, at the VERY least, being able to increase HP to like 999 would make stamina mode a million times better in itself. And that's a very simple tweak. If someone told me what the code is that sets that I bet I could fix it myself lol (and im not a coder).

Though I could be wrong :p

Forget all that SSE GFX snuff. Exploding smashers is infinitely more entertaining.

BETTER YET

The one hit you give the defeated AFTER they lose their hp should explode them. THAT would be baller.

Hahah, that would be awesome.. but I'm guessing they'd look for the simplest solution with the least work..

Although once again, I could be wrong.. they have done some over the top stuff we weren't expecting!

Somebody suggested the Nana vanishing animation in a similar thread, I'm not sure just how feasible this is though.

Pretty much both. They figured that Turbo mode would be most interesting with stamina matches and wanted to know if that was on the PMBR's to do list iirc.

Also.. wont turbo mode with stamina matches suck B***s**k? The matches would last like 30 seconds lol

As opposed to the Turbo Tuesday videos where opponents last about the same amount of time? With high stamina and stocks, turbo could be quite fun.

K true i guess. But comon why can't increasing the HP also be an option? It would be much simpler than creating turbo mode! I find it sad that i cant actually do any stamina battles that can last a while.

Oh, I definitely am in support of increased stamina percentage, just with the option of stocks as well.

This would be awesome and I agree with you 100% and having this plus stock or this plus turbo would be awesome as heck (be like playing marvel baby Lol)

i was always a little pissed that melee stamina hps ended at 150 since it was the only mode that made it somewhat similar to a traditional fighting game. I really hope the P:m crew can bump it up to its max level (or let us select it). And maybe i love MvC games too much, but i always wondered about the possibility of some kind of switch in switch out mechanic that could be used in doubles/crew battles. instead of picking one character you each pick three. and at certain points in the battle you could switch into a more advantageous character or a character who your crew member mains and let him play.
am i asking for too much here? will any of them even see this? :nervous:

I would love increased stamina and/or more than one life.

I've always liked the idea but not the execution of stamina mode. Though I do love beating up the corpses.

A rethinking of the the stamina mode is a badass idea. What do you guys think about a game mode where Bombombs fall from the sky just like regular sudden death?

the idea would be the "corpse" disappears like nana does when popo "dies" and you would respawn on a floating platform like normal

I would love to see this happening, in Melee Stamina Mode only give you like 150HP i think, and the matches were too short, even in brawl 300HP didnt help too much.

oh my glob yes down on d-pad to switch out, and they could just use the pokemon trainers down b in that aspect . out of all the wild, nutty and bat**** crazy requests ive seen. (black jesus/reggie fils-aime/ goku) this sounds viable

I wouldn't mind. (But I just remembered how much I suck at MvC3...) But the manner of coding that might be a bit difficult, no? For that special mode, you'd have to manually change the D-pad or combination to character switch. In addition, you'll have to have the option of picking a tag team character, which would set that character's data so when you press D-pad, the system will call that specified character and replace it with your main, who will be called onto the D-pad and keep the same HP. Furthermore, removal of invincibility and once a character loses its life, you can no longer use the D-pad for switching.

I remember when i was young and played brawl and didnt have halo or anything like that, so i would make custom stage builder forts and turn all of the items to stuff like the fireworks and the fire flower ray gun etc, put it on stamina with everyones health at 20 or something and me and my brother would limit character choices to snake and falco/fox speccial moves only. I thought it was pretty cool but it was terrible because everyone died right away and i would have to wait a few minutes to respawn, it couldve been pretty good if there were stamina stocks at the time. Please put this feature in so i can finally live my life in the past

How about an item on both sides of the stages? It can have a hit box so your partner can smash it whenever they want out. This is flimsy though. There's still question on what item to use, whether the item will be on the floor, in an aerial static position, or moving around like the smash ball, and ultimately whether any of this is ideal.

Lol, just came back to this thread after a while... I think it kinda got off topic with the MvC talk :p

Although a kind of tag team option wouldn't be too bad (though I don't see it being possible)
