SSE Online Co-op Deconfirmed???

There was a rumor circulating on the internet and posted by Kotaku that stated SSE co-op was possible online. Today we got a glimpse are the With Friends Menu on Wi-Fi. The options shown are Brawl, presumably online versus mode, home run contest and Multi Man Brawl. SSE co-op was no where to be found. This doesn't necessarily mean anything though...It would be rather stupid to include Multi-Man Brawl over SSE online!

WI-FI WITH FRIENDS SCREEN:

EDIT: WHOOPS! It looks like their are multiple pages to choose from.

Obviously SSE would be too much for online play, considering it has to sync up a whole lot more than just item placements and character movements, but it also has to sync up enemy AI. When there are a bunch of enemies around it has to send the data to both players so that one enemy isn't going one way for one player and the other way for the other, while at the same time keeping track of player HP, movement, and items being dropped in play.

Plus there is the whole unlockable issue, where if a CD or Trophy Stand appears, who gets it if its collected? What if you already unlocked the song and got it again?

This doesn't prove anything, Wi-Fi is still possible there, this just shows some of the possible Wi-Fi with friends.

I'm sure there's more. Don't fret, especially since Sakurai is obsessed with making tons of wifi available. Don't forget all those other things he hid from us:
Demo screen?
Vault? Or whatever it was. :(
Co-op events? Those weren't there before?

He never said anything about them being online. I do agree though that they could have taken advantage of all their multiplayer modes and included them all online.
Actually, he did say targets were online.

I'd assume that one Wii would tap into the other one. So, P2 is playing P1's file.

"Deconfirmed" isn't a word...but expecting online anything other than what was confirmed was always wishful thinking.

Maybe he didn't want to show that part......this pic could've easily been old, and they have newer pics of SSE Online.

I agree. Give it up guys, online SSE is not very practical.

I don't think online SSE would be good, especially if someone lagged during the cutscenes or something. However, if it does exist it might prompt them to give the wii-mic so we could communicate with each other *crosses fingers for voice chat at least*

I've been sceptical of whether or not SSE co-op was online, as it was never stated that it was on the Dojo, just in an off-hand remark by one of the US reps. (They also never said the Target Test co-op was online, which makes sense because in a game where the whole point is beating it as fast as possible, ANY lag is intolerable).

I can understand people thinking this could be an incomplete menu based on the past, but really, why would they post an incomplete menu two weeks before the game comes out? I've been noticing them posting a lot of menu pictures within the past two months, and I think its probably just as a way to cap-off game mode speculation.

Online co-op SSE would've definitely been nice, but I can see why it may not have worked so well. I guess it was better for Sora to put the features in the "with friends" mode that they knew were sure to work the best.

The pages can tentatively change over time. If you look at the first update shown of the WiFi menu, there is no "Options" button, but they later added it in a different screen shot of the same screen.

I was just wondering........
Does anyone know if we will be able to play co-op brawl online against 2 HUMAN players?

So if i wanna team up with a mate and vs 2 people, has that been announced or do you think its possible?

if you're talking about the video showing 2 people playing 2 people from different locations, this could just be the 'with friends' feature, 2v2.
I want to be able to play with a friend against 2 unknown players.

think about this. early screenshots of event mode didn't show a co op option, so the same might apply here. he might not want to show it to us yet.
