There has been too much whining around about wether SSBB will ever reach the amount of fun and competitiveness that melee has brought. With brawl in my opinion will be tons more competitive than melee ever was, sure maybe there might not be a wavedash but maybe something else even better.

Let me tell you something, this game will probably have 35+ charcaters (maybe even 50 for that matter) and more stages and probably more depth in the fighting. This doesnt mean less fun or less SHFFL or anything that comes to mind, its actually now a new game with proably even more new techniques than melee and probably even more glitches that people will soon pick up as moves. With all this characters imagine the tiers list with a ton of characters.

Online is a major concern but people will most likely get used to online before getting use to just playing with a friend. People are sticking too much with the old, be happy that now not only you can figure out new things and call them your own. You know what i think? i bet they probably wont fix WD, they probably know that most people dont even know about that since its true...

With the new crouch walking they added, this opens up a new door of experimenting.
--And abou the special attacks, i hope you can turn them off because this would ruin smash, or maybe it will make it better... IDK... :chuckle:

Way to make a thread. So you're optomistic about a game purely because there are going to be more playable characters and you without any proof have assumed there will be more , or better techs.

Nice optomisim but a pointless thread. Hope you're right though but I still think there's a better chance Brawl will fail compared to SSBM.

More characters doesn't automatically mean that the game will be better. Look at Mortal Kombat [really ******** imo]. Brawl will probably be more simple, Sakurai said so himself.

You people are sound very not excited for Brawl. I mean, it's a new Smash game! Yay! Isn't that enough? ;_;

You know you'll love it. It won't be that hard to measure up to Melee, and I definately expect Brawl to surpass it in most ways. There's plenty of reasons out there. I mean, it has Fox in it, it has Snake in it, and it will most likely have Sonic in it. It can't go wrong now, not for me, not with the addition of third-party characters. That's what I'm quite excited about. [Though, Sonic is definately not nessecary as a character for me. But I wouldn't mind ;)]

I think 50 characters is huge exaggeration, 40 is the absolute maximum and 33-35 would be realistic. That doesn't make Brawl a bad game at all though. Mostly the pro and competetive players are worried here, and mainly because they are afraid of losing wavedashing and other advanced techniques/glitches and therefore losing their status as 'pro's. That is definitely NOT the case - in every freaking game there is, there will always be good players, bad players, and incredible players. Good players will be recognized and it will be respected just as before. Adjusting the game might make it easier, but it will be just as hard to master. There will be a new Isai (or Ken) for Brawl, no matter how different from the old Melee the producers decide to make it.

Atleast I'm looking forward to it, and I see no reason why others shouldn't be either. If you don't want more content, then you should stick to SSBM. If you do, then look forward to the new SSB, because it will be a spectacular fighter no matter what, we know what to expect of Sakurai and his team.

Calm down people. ;)

You can be good at a game that has no competitive scene but you can't be a pro at it, because there has to be a competitive scene in order for pros to be set apart from good players.

And I think you are too optimistic, how do you know Brawl will be just as hard to master? How to you know more content is better? I've seen developers ad stuff for the sake of adding and the game turns out to be crowded with useless, boring content.

I prefer quality over quantity.

I think it will be good. Im really scared of them removing WDing, shffling etc. I really want to NOT think about Brawl until its release. Its not coming out for a while and threads like this just make people anticipate this game even more. I dont wanna be going crazy for a game to come out that isnt gonna come out soon. I feel sick when i heard bout all the good stuff about brawl but i cant have it. urrrghh! its like people are teasing me. lol. But i like to think pessimistic....only for the fact that if Brawl is a complete faliure......I wont be to mad.

Wtf this is just a copy of my thread. You're all discussing the exact same thing. Only difference is the first post starts things off by saying ''brawl will be better than melee'' You're all going to add your opinions anyway, and the first post probably won't influence those opinions.

Mostly the pro and competetive players are worried here, and mainly because they are afraid of losing wavedashing and other advanced techniques/glitches and therefore losing their status as 'pro'
I dont think anyone who posts in the Brawl section is pro. I think some of us are competitive but the term ''pro'' applies to monsters like PC Chris and Chudat. The techniques dont make the player, by the way. I, personally would be absolutly screwed if there was no wavedashing (I literally cant play without it, its instinct) but I am by no means a pro melee player. Id like to think im pretty good but I dont win tournaments, and im not on Canada's power rankings (Yet) I am sure plenty of pros from melee will adapt to brawl.
