(i'm sorry if there's already a post about this)

Most of you already know this, but some of you might not. There is now a ladder that ranks SSB64 players. If you think you're one of the best players you should join so you can see where you really rank. If not, you will at least get to play really good players.

The Ladder: All is Brawl

You'll have to register for an account to be able to join the ladder.

YOU WILL ALSO HAVE TO PUT IN A BRAWL FRIEND CODE. To do this, click your name, go to edit your profile, and then click "fun". Near the bottom you'll see "Brawl Friend Code" and if you don't have one just type 0000 0000 0000. This is because there is a glitch that won't let you join unless you have it.

I hope some of you join, because it's not very active right now.

I stopped playing on the ladder after my 2nd opponent lied about his victory and I got a loss.

The ladder proves nothing at all. Like only 20 people play on it, the rest just signed up and never played. Just like NF said, people can say wrong **** and all sorts of crap and f.uck up peoples wins/losses. Just because your ranked 1 - though 10 or whatever on that site, doesn't make you the best on that site, or in the world, or online, or on the nintendo 64 game system. Isai could sign up, beat Boomfan, and it would put him in 25th place and he could not play for a long time. It's all visual judgement based by allisbrawl's system. The scoring system was made poorly, and wins to high ranked people compared to low ranked people for points is unprepared. I would not let a site decide my skill with wins and losses vs. people that I play over and over, and for other people to look at and judge. If I wanted to play somebody, I will just ask them when I see them in a server.

Smartest thing you've ever said since day 1.

This is only the case if people DONT play...saying you shouldn’t play because others aren’t playing only causes an endless circle of fail.

besides for the most of us on the ladder, it only serves as a good place to find p2p smash...EGX is a pain in the *** to scan for people who want to play p2p...where as almost everyone ive ever played in the ladder played p2p

Case in point, if you cant see the ladder for something other then "omg best in dah world" ..your better off not joining

F*** allisbrawl. Bring back the canadian ladder Surri or I aint competing in sh**

btw my son Xander is doing well! :)
its not me who needs to bring it back...try chalanging someone xP namly me for leader spot or Boomfan for top spot

all the rest of yous on the Canadian ladder should also take a look at the standings and chalange your appropriate foes

You probably had that near the begining of the ladder.

I've been a ladder ref (Decides disputed matches) and a chat mod for quite a while now. No disputes have happened yet but when they do, I can assure you I'll do my best to find out who's lying and who's not. Most of the time, I can get the idea of who the person is and if they're lying or not XP

i had one issue before with DannySSB where several suisides occured (les then 10%-30% deaths when i was trying to either do an arieal or recover from a throw, and fell to my death) and he reported it as a win for him, when i told him the lag was to much, and quit after only 2-3 stocks...the refs fixed it and called it a null match xP

If you're like me and get frustrated trying to play people on EGX, join the ladder. I don't care about wins and losses because it doesn't matter... it's about playing for enjoyment of the game (and duh yes winning is fun but I have just as much fun losing to, say, superboom as i do winning).

I mean my wins-losses right now is 21-29... it's 29 because I get to play great players unlike the trash that's on egx most of the time. I've used that to play friendlies too, so if anything use it for a p2p matchmaking service.

But ladder matches are fun because there is a sense of significance to it that you don't get playing a lot of friendlies... kind of like tourny play. But like I said, I don't really care about the wins/losses but it's still fun to win and get a few points.

There will NEVER be a ranking system for smash 64 that anyone will look to and say, "Yeah, that's right" because of the logistics and the personalities involved. So I, for one, think the rankings part of the ladder should be taken with a grain of salt and players should utilize it for better matchmaking.

Just try it out, and if you don't like it then at least you tried to make this community better.

Wait, most play P2P? Then I'm in. I haven't played 64 in a long time and I really want to have some fun.

Ok...anyone who is complaining about the ladder SYSTEM needs to actually know what it is first - don't embarass yourself by saying things like "if someone beats boom they will get 25th" or "people just lie about results"...

Anyways, like marioreincarnate said, it is mostly just for matchmaking - and you also get that tournament-like feeling because it actually shows your wins and losses. You get to constantly face a variety of decent players at the least delay possible. (And if the delay is still too high, you don't have to play them)

In my opinion, the only thing stopping this ladder from becoming successful is that people are either:
1. Complaining about things they know nothing about
2. People not participating at all b/c they have their own inflated ego about where they stand
3. People not actively playing (who are already in the ladder) b/c they think this ladder is biased since they've only played 1/2 matches and probably lost.

OF COURSE - the main argument is that it is online and therefore isn't the REAL rankings. But this is how close it gets, (online anyways).

Again, do not talk about the actual system unless you actually know what you're talking about. TY

the main problem I see are the actual ratings. There aren't enough people on to play and yes, the reporting match thing doesn't work that well.........I won a ranked match vs Tigerbombz but he disagreed. I sent it in to Nintendude and it turned out the match was null because I had no proof.....Now I have to record every match to make it so no one does this again.

I already tried that. :( What had happened was that I was playing Glick on p2p. I won the first match, then the game kept DSing over and over again. After like 15 minutes (>.>) I had to leave because the match was taking longer than I thought. We agreed to finish it later, so I didn't put that I won or he lost. However, he put that HE won even though the match never finished, and I got a loss.

He left a message on my wall on AiB and he PMed me saying this:

"
Glick wrote at 9:27 PM on Oct 06, 2008:
MATT I'M SO SORRY. I THOUGHT YOU PUT YOU WON SO I TRIED TO LEAVE IT AS A DISPUTE. SO I PUT IT AS I WON SO IT WOULD STAY THERE. YOU CAN HAVE THE WIN I'M SORRY. I WILL TRY TO GET IT FIXED BUT YOU CAN HAVE THE WIN. SORRY AGAIN. I DIDN'T MEAN TO DO THAT."

So we contacted Nintendude to get it fixed and he said there was nothing we could do about it.

-.-

if that is really true, i would avoid such people, they won't get anywhere lying

everyone i've played so far were very trustworthy and i've had no issues about reporting, and i'm sure others can say the same

I mean yeah I have no problems with the ladder. It's a lotta fun to play with people all over the United States. Even though i'm 9-16 and like 25th in da standings, I like playing people who are a good challenge
