I read on the Brawl Dojo that Mr. Saturn is fairly good at breaking shields... is he really that effective?

Ooh good idea for a thread! I didn't realize how many were confirmed so far. I hope the Super Scope, Superspicy Curry, Dragoon Parts, Hothead, Freezie, Cloaking Device, and Beam Sword all return. Also, the new item revealed today looks really sweet.

Yeah, it does... though I am curious what Sakurai meant by "when someone drops it, though, the gusts run wild"... maybe it could result in a cyclone like the one in Hyrule Castle (SSB 64)?

More than that.
See, when he comes into contact with a character. He isn't hurting them using physical contact.
Instead, he simply shifts reality, causing a small rift of space.
Which, naturally, is dangerous to video game characters.

Why doesn't anyone see it? Well.
It's very quick, and requires to slow it down to a minimum. Where you can just barely see it.
It's magical yet horrifying. Something that can't be comprehended at this very moment.

Though, our Mr. Saturn still rather young, so it as powerful as it could be...

Initial Thoughts: All of the items shown thus far are looking amazing!
I love the new ones too! It does seem like Zelda is getting a lot of love with new items, but they are all great and long over due(3 items across 3 games for Nintendo's number 2 series? That's just not right.)
I assume Olimar is getting a new final smash because of the rocket-ship which is also good news.
What needs to be brought back: Red Shell, Parasol, Cloaking Device(if possible, don't know the origin of that one.), Barrel Cannon.
What needs to go: Blast Box(I think it's just plain lazy, the regular crates can explode randomly as is), Gooey Bomb(It's part of Megaman's moveset now. No need to have repetition there. Although it was entertaining.), Smoke Ball(Personal dislike, though I get why it can be useful).
What needs to be added: I had two items on my wishlist for this game and one was already met(Cucco). The other has to be the Blue Shell from Mario Kart. It just makes too much sense. You have the green and red shells, there's no reason not to include this.
Other Ideas: Ice Flower(Mario series), Chests(can be enemies in disguise. Can't remember the names of them.) from Kid Icarus, and Shields(from the television sets, including Fire, Bubble, and Electricity. If only one can be used, it would have to be bubble. Protects from attacks for a certain amount of damage or time and allows you to bounce over opponents. Ala Sonic 3) from the Sonic series.
Dang that was long winded. I guess I just had a lot to say! No one ever seems to want to talk about items so I never get a chance to get this stuff out.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the Beam Sword looks aka my favorite item in Smash Bros.

I am pretty happy to see the Gust Bellows included along with the Beetle. The Gust Bellows was one of my most wanted items to see revealed.

I have always wanted the Laser Upgrade from Star Fox included as an item. It would bolster the strength and speed of any projectile including item projectiles such as the Super Scope and Ray Gun.
