Ring Fit Trainee
Will Ring You Out!
As someone who's played Ring Fit Adventure ever since I got it for Christmas in 2019, whenever I see people suggest Ring Fit Trainee as a Wii Fit Trainer Echo Fighter, a part of me dies inside. So I crafted this moveset to prove to the world that the concept of Ring Fit Adventure alone is enough for Ring Fit Trainee to stand out as a fighter.
- Female
- Default
- Legs Master (blue)
- Guru Gear (green)
- Female Dragon Breaker (black)
- Male
- Default
- Arms Master (red)
- Abs Master (yellow)
- Male Dragon Breaker (black)
Stance/Idle 1: Their battle stance from Ring Fit Adventure.
Idle 2: The Trainee stretches behind their head.
Idle 3: The Trainee briefly stretches Ring.
Walk: Their walk from Ring Fit Adventure.
Dash: Their run from Ring Fit Adventure.
Damage: Their damage animation from Ring Fit Adventure.
Jump: The Trainee blows a gust below themselves. During either of the two jumps, you can hold the jump button to hover.
Crouch: The Squat from Ring Fit Adventure.
Gains: Every action the Trainee performs is an exercise, and because of that you will earn Gain Points (GP) for every successful action. At 50 GP, your hair is somewhat ablaze and your stats are multiplied by 1.5x. At 100 GP, your hair is even more ablaze and your stats are multiplied by 2x (the damage values listed are assuming you haven’t gained any GP yet). However, if you perform the same actions repeatedly, your GP starts to deplete and the GP you have left doesn’t carry over to the next stock.
Ring Press: For all tilt and aerial attacks, the Trainee blows a gust in the direction pointed on the control stick (2%, small knockback). When inputting a back attack, the Trainee turns around if they’re not already attacking when moving backwards.
Ab Guard: This is how the Ring Fit Trainee's shield looks, though it's purely aesthetic.

Dash Attack: Knee Lift; the Trainee attacks with a rising kick that launches opponents vertically (5%, small knockback)
Edge Attack: Knee-to-Chest; after grabbing the edge with their legs, the Trainee bends over and headbutts the opponent after raising themselves (5%, small knockback)
Get-Up Attack: Leg Raise; the Trainee raises their legs as abs appear on both sides (4%, small knockback)
Smash Attacks
Forward+A: Bow Pull; the Trainee pulls on Ring to build up power for a far-reaching punch (13%, OK knockback)
Up+A: Overhead Squat; the Trainee squats down and rises up with a burst of energy, not unlike their victory pose (13%, OK knockback)
Down+A: Russian Twist; the Trainee sits down and twists on both sides, using abs to attack (13% each hit, OK knockback)
Grab Game
Grab: Galactic Donut; the Trainee traps the opponent in a giant ring.
Pummel: The Trainee squeezes the ring (2%)
Forwards+Throw: Standing Twist; the Trainee twists their body in the direction opposite to where they’re facing (4.5%, small knockback)
Back+Throw: Pendulum Bend; the Trainee bends down and throws the opponent behind them (5%, small knockback)
Up+Throw: Overhead Bend; the Trainee bends down and up again to throw the opponent into the air (6%, small knockback)
Down+Throw: Seated Ring Raise; the Trainee sits down and then moves Ring down as they both summon abs to crush the opponent (5%, small knockback)

B : Ring Pull; the Trainee pulls Ring to create a vacuum, which can suck in projectiles to gain a small amount of GP and pull in nearby opponents and items. Releasing B fires a short-range burst of air (6%, small knockback)
B + Forwards : Rowing Ring; Ring grows oats and the Trainee charges forward with a rowing attack (8%, small knockback). The attack works better on the ground (and best on water)
B + Up : Ring Wing; Ring grows wings and glides in the direction tilted on the control stick before going into freefall. The distance traveled depends on how long B is held.
B + Down : Seated Forward Press; the Trainee sets Ring down on the ground and creates a pink healing field with small hearts bursting around the Trainee (6%, small knockback). The pink healing field works like the item where any fighter that walks into it recovers health during its duration, which depends on how long B was held.
Final Smash: Ring Fit Rush; the Trainee pills Ring for a massive vortex that sucks any opponents in the vicinity into a pocket dimension. Any opponents sucked are taken into a cutscene where they’re stopped by abs, stomped by a foot, then subject to a flurry of punches before finishing with an explosion from a plant (60%, devastating knockback).
