SSB 1v1 Blindfold + Guide

So I had this idea:

A 1v1 match while both players are blind folded... BUT, there are two guides, one for each player. So if it was Boom vs Frogles for example, I could tell Boom what to do, and someone else, say Hammerheart could tell Frogles what to do.

This would require skype or teamspeak or some sort of program where you can talk with microphones. Yes, I know it's easy to cheat, but that's why it's for fun. You'd do it with someone you know wouldn't be a ***.

It would be hard onnline, becuase even if you trust them, you can never be sure if they cheated or not. Live on the other hand, would work great. They should do it on Genesis 2.

Pfft, it wasn't co-ordinated very well, plus hammerheart just trolled me when I played. And you thought I was Mario the whole time when I was Yoshi, plus we weren't even sure if we were DSed.

Yeah....................

Don't even think about it.
It'd be easier what Sangoku said, and sort of the same.

idk about boomfan

but i thought it was hilarious

we should do it again
+1. Really a separate skype call is necessary IMO. Had to talk over someone. Plus, boomfan thought I was the wrong character the whole time, like wtf...

How about blindfold but with instant messaging guides lol. You put the kaillera chat window over the gameplay window so you can't see it, leave the sound on, and guide your teammate through text >_> It sounds good to me in theory. Might try it.

Text would depend on how fast your partner can write, which is unrelated to smash and could make a huge difference.
I still think one second delay is the best blindfold way.

well it wouldn't take long to write something like:

B Link: utiltx3
B Link: fsmash

unless you're a REALLY slow typer >_>

and since you can hear the sound the player can actually judge if they're hitting something.

also you could tell your partner to "roll" to the edge so they wouldn't fall off >_>

I don't understand the 1 second delay thing though (you can still see the screen?)

Maybe I just type to slowly then =p.

My delay thing was a joke. But if you play with so much delay, it's as if you were blindfolded as you need to do thing before seeing them. Especially at the beginning of the match, you can input a combo and see if it works (with falcon for example, dash grab, sh uair etc before it comes out).

If I ever did something like this I would probably spam Kirby's FSmash across the stage or something dumb like that.

Nah I don't think DK's down-B would be that good, it's hard to combo with when you're not looking at the screen and doesn't do much alone.

Seriously, Kirby's FSmash. It's powerful, and moves horizontally so that you can do it across the stage without knowing where your opponent is. And I'd imagine it's hard to punish when you aren't looking at the screen.

Jake is definitely dropping Yoshi
I was posting moves where you don't move (so you don't have to worry about running off the stage), and where you have a large hitbox. Comboing would be very hard, so using moves where blinded opponents can easily walk into your moves, whether they combo or not, would be great moves in my opinion.

Sure, if you were blinded and your opponent wasn't, DK's down-B would be terrible, but if your opponent is blinded, and they land near-ish you, they'll get hit.

Why use Down B when you could use Up B?

DK's stationary up B has:
longer range
invincibility frames
the ability to actually kill
