Spectator?

Why is it that there is no spectator mode in my with anyone?

I had the same problem. I was able to fix it my deleting the game files and reconnecting to wifi and get a new friend code. Its some kind of problem with the servers cause of to many people logging in at the same time.

I have spectator mode but its funny because there always seems to be lag free games to watch without any hassle every time I try it but "with anyone brawl" almost never works

You guys need to go to options and say yes when the message asks if you want Spectator...
