Have you ever had spam before?

If you have and don't like it, how was it served to you?
If you have and do like it, how do you eat it normally?

I personally love it. It takes the place of the typical sausage or bacon for breakfast. I normally panfry it, with about half a teaspoon of sugar spread on top as I cook it.

edit: For those of you curious and wanting to try...

Cook it first! Never, ever eat it raw unless you have to (as in survival situation). It's edible raw, but it's best cooked.

When I was in Boy Scouts, we went camping. We brought along tons of Spam for some reason.

Spam roasted over an open fire is delicious. I made waffles with this thing you put batter into and hold over the fire, then I made a Spam sandwich. Oh man it was totally awesome.

OH MAN!!!!!!

Check out Spam.com and prepare to either have the time of your life or puke, depending on what kind of person you are.

It's insane.

Spam is great. I generally put it in my fried rice or in the hotpot.

Ah, Spam is lovely. I have relatives from Hawaii, so you can see how Spam plays a big role in my diet. My Chinese mother loves to use it for making Spam fried rice. If not used in fried rice, I either make Spam musubi with it, or Spam and Eggs with rice. It really is delicious. :D

Spam is okay, I've had it in sandwiches(yeah...), and the normal fried way. It's edible, not not one of my choices. It's rubbery and not very appealing, and there is so much more options and things to add to dishes that are a better priority than spam.

Although I don't know, they way you prepare it is a big factor.
The American response to any "meat" is to fry it. And then add onions.
So apparently I hear that is why people don't like liver, but I've had liver prepared in a Mediterranean style, and I like it a lot. *shrug*
That's a different topic though.

simple panfrying it and eating it on toast for a sandwhich is good. cheese is optional, but probably makes it better.

It's not spreadable. It comes in a rounded rectangular can. It's slightly more dense and saltier tasting than normal ham, and in my family and many other Asian families it serves as a breakfast meat.

Best served with rice btw.
That is so true. I eat it with my kim-chi ji-gae.

I think Turkey Spam is the best, especially panfried. But with sugar? I've never heard of such a thing, and it doesn't seem to tasty.
