that said, im loving it. mac benefits greatly from not being hogged. definitely going to be a good character

Personally I think it's moving in the correct direction.

This game feels unlike any of the others, any by that I mean in a good way. Doesn't resemble Brawl to me much.

It just feels SO GOOD on the 3DS somehow. I'm sure it will on Wii U too.

No one is expecting melee or pm at this point. Most people just want a good game with longevity competitive ability. While it's to early to say for sure i think most would say smash 4 is off to a good start.

It's quite it's own game. I see defensive-style punishes like in Brawl, but there's also a lot of comboing in low percents. I think it creates a neat balance of racking damage with nice comboing or juggling until your opponents are ready for "kill" or to off-stage.

I think the perfect balance has been found IMO.

I don't think it's 85% Brawl, I hated Brawl but I love this one. I played the demo. I think that it's its own thing. I compared Brawl and Melee some weeks ago, and playing Brawl after Melee is a completely different thing. With this game instead, it's like if the core is the same as Melee, but something has changed. Getting used with the new gameplay is a lot easier jumping from Melee to this than from Melee to Brawl.
It's not like Melee, but it shares some concepts.
I love the new edge guarding technique. It's like the old one, but just for a small frame, then you will be detached. More skills, less camping.

EDIT: I can easily say that, after a gen of sucking hard, Link, my second main after Kirby, is now, finally, a good character!

I wouldn't expect PM or Melee unless I had the disc/SD card in my system for it.

I feel Smash4 is the game we all expected to get back in 08.

Low percentage combos/strings, fast(WELL slower then Melee but it's speed various a lot depending on charaters, overall though the speed is higher then Brawl) gameplay and strong kill moves. This make it so matches are not only faster then Brawl but more entertaining to watch and play. Once people start getting actually good I'm sure smash4 will be a competitive sport hit.
