14:24: Smash Bros. has been delayed in Japan until January 24, 2008.

Nintendo shows a new trailer. Sonic is going to be a playable character! The trailer shows him transforming into Super Sonic.

The game will include online fights. In addition, it will have online cooperative play of some form.

Ok, I REALLY hope the delay doesn't apply to North America.

So if this is all true, they give us Sonic, but make us wait even longer for the game? What.the.hell.

The word of Sonic being in Smash isn't a surprise to me, really. We all knew it was going to happen. As for the delayed release date, hopefully it doesn't affect us Americans.

If it IS delayed in the Americas, then that also works to my benefits. I get more time to save up some money for the game that way.

What are the chances that only the Japanese release date was pushed and not the NA release date? I mean... it is bring produced in Japan, one would think it'd apply here too. I'm hoping not, though. :( I'm line borderline right now, I'm happy about sonic, yet sad about the release date...

Maybe they can do a dual release, these extra 2 months could give them time to get it translated, and have them release together. Or maybe it's just wishful thinking :(

I still find it sorta odd that North America would have it released a month before Japan... just sound so wrong lol.

On the other hand... waiting for a picture of Sonic!!

December is the big spending month in the U.S., but it's usually late December or January in Japan. Might not have a date change for us after all.

And **** yes! I love Sonic! Mwa ha ha!

I don't believe that we would get the game before Japan, but it's kinda weird that they didn't saying anything about a N.A. release date change, unless they don't know, that is.

Fire, you probably just started the most talked on thread in a long time.

Haha. Brawl will be delayed in the US too now. I mean, what are the reasons a game is delayed? To add more stages (a la Twilight Princess) to add more content and provide a bigger package (a la Corruption).

Since Brawl is being made in Japanese and English in tandem (or so we think), there are things that affect both versions leading to both beind delayed. The reason it was revealed in as the "Japanese release date" is because the friggin conference is taking place in Japan....:)

Or so I think.

Well, since they confirmed our release date already and they didn't have a definite release date for Japan. Plus we got an update on the N. American release date. Just look at my sig. we got Dec. 3rd to wait for.

You have to realize that:

1. There is a reason for the delay
2. The conference is in Japan, that's why they only mentioned Japan
3. Why the HELL would it come out here first if the game was made in Japan, that makes no sense.
4. Because of these reasons there is reasonable doubt so NO WE WON'T JUST CHILL. Let the discussion go on.
