why should sonic be in brawl and shadow is just an assist trophy? shadow should be a character and sonic should be the trophy. i know a lot of people who like shadow more than sonic.

For one it was Sonic not Shadow that warred with Mario during the era of SNES and Genesis.
That and Shadow is just a recoloring of Sonic.
He also sucks as a character.
tl;dr: Its cause Shadow fails at life. He should have remained a dead character.

Yes, because Shadow is SOOOOO much more important to SEGA's history than Sonic EVER was.
