Sonic and Snake Confirmed?

If there has been no cuts yet does that mean snake and sonic are still being planned to be put in and they already have the rights for them to be put into this game?

This could be talking about early cutting of planned characters, though.

For instance, imagine a scenario where they were going to include Ridley, but got 50% through his development and decided they couldn't make him work.
Then, imagine that they were never going to include Wolf. They just didn't take the character into consideration.

In this scenario, Ridley would be a "cut" character, and Wolf would not be (in the scope of Smash 4, disregarding previous titles). Because you can't determine in what sense the wording pertains, you can't make any predictions based on it.

Well, they always get the rights to use each character before they plan on getting them in, at least I hope so for their own work's sake, so it could be possible that they're planned to return and they have the rights to them. I have a feeling that this time around we'll have to wait for release before seeing them, since they're veterans by now. I do sincerely hope that both return either way.

I doubt they would have any trouble getting the rights to the characters. Sega has come right out and said that its Nintendos decision whether sonic is in the game or not, and from what I hear Kojima is friends with sakurai so they would want their characters to be in the game. So it's up to sakurai really. I mean seriously though unless you are an extremely full of yourself company, you are going to want and be exetremely honored to have your character in smash. Not everyone is a ******* like activision.

Considering that they were called guest characters, wouldn't make sence to say "we are cutting guest character". Although I do see sonic returning due to lost world but doesn't mean he will because of the "guest" lable.
