I figured since I couldn't find a previous thread on these forums for such a topic, I'd take some initiative! 
Anybody on here write their own lyrics? Whether it be for their own music, others, or for the hell of it, post your stuff! I'm curious to see what other people are songwriters/lyricists, and I'm hoping something like this could be a decent hub for lyrical critique and analysis!
To kick things off, I'll throw a song on here I wrote a couple weeks ago, feel free to tell me what you guys think!
Insomniac
Genre: Progressive Rock, Metal
It’s not enough.
Throw up, onto more important matters.
Logic at this time of night pales in comparison
To what these looming thoughts had in store for me.
Stay awake just for a couple more minutes,
This paragraph won’t finish itself.
What am I to see?
Is this looming truth eating at you?
It doesn’t get much harder to breathe here,
Steady your hand, now.
Let these thoughts dig deeper,
You know you want to be here.
Me, myself, and I
Know why I’ve fallen apart inside.
To try to pull it back takes more than a night.
Don’t lie,
My grave is too far from here to just die.
Or I could just cut out my eyes?
Set them down on the sill,
Let them watch the sky,
Their dreams mean more to them than mine,
All they wanna do is fly.
How can it be 3:30 already?
GET BACK ON TRACK.
Peruse my lines one last time,
Let these thoughts kill me another night.
