While experimenting with Marth a few nights ago I discovered that his Dancing Blade attack works just like down canceling when it comes to canceling a run. I'm sure other people have found this too but I kept playing with it and found that when your opponent just hits the ground (if they don't ground tech) using one forward B will get them off the floor and from there you can grab them and throw them down again then start the cycle all over sort of like a mock chain grab sequence.
I've only got to test this on cpus so far but in theory I think it would work on a human player aswell. Obviously, like any combo it can be broken with good DI or good ground-teching and it becomes more difficult as the percentages (and thus your throwing distance) becomes larger but I think this technique might have some legit use in real matches.

Let me know what your thoughts are on it. I've never seen anyone else do it but theres alot I haven't seen so...

Oh also. I've only done this one against a cpu Marth but if you use the first dancing blade to stun him it'll lift him off the ground ever so slightly and set him up to be knocked back with a Dolphin Slash. This seems alot easier than dash-dancing into it or waveshielding into an up B as I've seen Ken do.

Let me know what your thoughts are whether these techs are any good or not.

When the opponent is just laying on the ground after the invincibility has worn off... the over B can get them yes... i used to use it a lot until my sparring buddy learned not to let me get close like that and became really good at teching.

But normally i just hit him with over B once to stop any momentum that he had and either grab him or go into a series of SHFFL combos... that really works well. Over B to stop them.. short hop a Nair and work from there.

Using the Up B to gain space is an easy way to leave yourself open for some brutal attack combos. Only use it if you are almost certain you can take the stock. Otherwise there is a good chance you could miss and leave yourself open for anything. I rarely use it... and normally only out of a shield as a trick way to end a match. Use with caution when playing against people.

Most decent and better players are going to be good enough at teching for this to not happen but when they get the occasional missed tech this could work. But Marth is tech roll chase city anyway so its not that big a deal.

Well I was thinking along the lines of frame time cuz the dancing blade is I think the fastes attack after the nuetral A when standing and inevitably down canceling would increase your attack time by a couple more frames. I see your point about range however because even though I've never seen discussions on it marths fsmash definetly has greater range then some other attacks if nothing else because he leans into it. The problem with upB out of an over B is that you have to cancel that aswell because otherwise you just do the second part of your dancing blade. It can be done but you have to do some sort of directional canceling and then hit upB. Either way, as firewulf said Dolphin Slash is a risky attack but once I master the timing I'll probably try to throw in 3consecutive overB's just to vary the attack.

Something interesting about this that I figured out a while ago is that you can from a full run do an overB behind you as well, like a pivot. You can do it with Falcon raptor boost as well and im sure every other overB move. I'm pretty sure that has already been discovered or known but I've always thought the overB while running could be used as a decent interrupt for directly behind you. It's difficult (at least for me) to be consistent with it though, because if you try to pivot and you mess up at least you will still be dash dancing. If you mess up doing this though you will do the slide animation you do when you turn in a full run.
