Someone pick 3 mains for me

I'd also like to piggyback on this thread - my first real main was Zard, then I recently picked up Samus (after discovering that she both is super fun and doesn't die as hard to chars like Lucas) - do these characters cover each other, and what might be a good third option? I've enjoyed Squirtle when trying him out, and played Mario for a while when I was originally trying to pick a main, but I'm also tempted to go with a melee top tier so that I could play melee with some proficiency if the opportunity arose. Thoughts?

Based on your specifications I'd recommend Mario. He's really solid all around and in melee i think he was at least B tier so you'd be able to put up a fight with him.

You should probably pick a fast, small character to cover your weaknesses.

That does seem like a good idea; I get the impression, as you said, that Mario is a very well rounded character who would have at least a decent MU against any character I might wish to counterpick for. He's also a bit more fast paced than my other chars (esp. Zard), which would give me practice playing a more aggro style.

Oh god, the only spacie I would MAYBE consider would be (or slippy lol); I don't really want to put the time and effort into learning a decade old metagame with imo one of the lowest fun/APM ratios in the game. No offense to or mains, I'm just kinda jaded to that playstyle.

The thing is that everyone is so scared to play them. isn't as good as he was in melee and 's lasers are one of the most annoying things to deal with even though they do virtually no damage now. I'll admit that i have much more fun playing wolf than these two just because they seem so stale and i can see why people tend to avoid these characters. It's almost as if everyone who plays pm avoids fox and falco due to the toxic controversy surrounding them.

...There's also Roy, but the three I listed are teh bestest
