hi there
im fairly new here and have only read a few posts and had a question for the general smash public

do you think that someone from nintendo might be watching smash boards in order to get ideas for brawl? if so, how would you feel about it?

I wouldn't be surprised, actually. Though I doubt it's happening, this is such a big community it's probably not too out there to suggest that we might be on their radar. I don't think they'd come here for ideas, but they might check into sites like these to see if certain ideas they have have are popular/have been though up at all by the "hardcore" fans.

I think they are checking sites that are popular when it comes to relation of Smash Bros. There's a lot of great ideas floating around Nintendo might not know, so I wouldn't doubt it.

From what I've heard, MoA employees do check out message board to get people's honest opinions about the games. It's possible someone is watching us for info.

Yeah I don't doubt it...

This community is huge and for them to not check up would kind of be neglectic a valuable resource.

My only hope is that they dismiss ideas like "Tingle for Brawl"....

I think Tingle is popular in Japan. I don't think he'll make the cut in Brawl though. Not sure if Japan wants him that much.

Anyways, I think staff members definetly check out message boards, but I don't think they take ideas very often.

In my personal opinion, Tingle is lacking something...

He doesn't have enough 'Snake'...

Actually, now that I think about it, I hope to god they put Tingle in. That way when a 12 year old imbecile challenges me to a battle, I can use Snake to destroy his Tingle and laugh at him... after I smoke a cigar.

Yes, and then flick it into his eyes... AHHAHAH...

Actually, around age 12 people start wanting bad asslyness, they probably will play snake... or mewtwo xD

I doubt they are, though its not impossible

SSBB is being developed in Japan, and NOA has no saying in any ways how Nintendo develops their games...

They could well be. Looking at something completely different, the creators of the TV show lost say they often look a forums for ideas and to see what people want.
Its not impossible.

man O man If I was developer I would look for some ideas from fan based sites magazines
it might just help them make decisions more faster(not sure correctly)


And of course Iwould like to be a game designer

Hmm, well, I think forums where people are allowed to say (almost) whatever they want turn out more truth then the strict nsider boards, although they have a FEW smart people over there..

Developers cannot come here looking for ideas. It's ilegal for them to use ideas that were taken from someone else. Anyone submit a question to the everybody votes channel? See that thing that says "nintendo has the right to use this for any reason whatsoever, do you still wish to submit?" They need our permission, and since they can't get it here, it's not happening. They can't even check if their idea is popular, because they might accidentally run into an idea they didn't think of.

Yeah, I wouldn't doubt it.
If anything, they'll use the site to determine the popularity of some characters over others (since that encompasses the majority of Brawl discussion topics anyway) in the US, as they did with the polls.
