setting the mode to develop allows u to toggle the visible hitboxes on/off
but you aren't able to use the Cstick in develop mode
is there any way to have the hitboxes toggled on, but also be in a mode where u can use the c stick? or is develop the only way?

i'd like to be able to practice some things that involve using the c-stick, but also be able to see the hitboxes/hurtboxes for em

c-stick in 1p mode doesn't help btw in case anyone was thinking that (i was lol)

also is the only way to go back frames after you already did something, using an emulator?
or is there some function in debug menu/ar that would allow u to do this?

i'd like to be able to perform a technique in melee and kinda go back and assess how close to frame-perfect it was
but obv. i would need to perform the technique w/ the console controller in real time, then some how go back and review it

for example, i went into devlop mode, and turned on the frame notes, and recorded some wavedashes
but when i slowed it down it skipped some frames so i wasn't able to accurately tell =\

i'm thinking maybe some higher quality recording equipment (i recorded in the highest quality i could set it to in pinnacle, i think, with as fast as it could go, again i think), or something ;|

You can't rewind, since Melee keeps no history of what happened in the past. Doing what you're interested in doing would definitely be easiest with an emulator where you have full control over game speed, savestates, and the like.

If you are using an emulator you can use save/load states to capture some frame information, but as of yet there is no rewind feature.

There is a 'record' feature used in TAS on dolphin, and you can use that to playback your actions but it is not very robust as of yet.

If you found a way to use the c-stick in action replay, you would be regarded as a god among men. I honestly don't think it's possible without someone coming in and making a custom code for it.

Theres a patch ( replace the .dol) that magus made that allows use of the c-stick in 1-player mode, and transforms
2P -> tournament mode to the debug menu and stuff.

So, you dont even need to use ar. you just burn the disc and the features are in it.
