Some of these ledge grabs are absurd

I'm all for dramatic moments and giving players a chance to save themselves when they get knocked off the stage, but there are some hits that ya just shouldn't be able to come back from. Anyone else feel this?

Only thing I have a problem with is the vertical ledge grab range.

There are so many perfect edge guard moves (like CF's utilt meteor) that just have no place in the game because the ledge grab range makes it 100% impossible to land them.

Spike 'em.

Anything that helps them helps you, too. Use that edge grab to return to the stage after a satisfying spike. The edge mechanics here make offstage play very fresh and, for a change, an active instead of passive part of the game. By which I mean, go knock them further off or spike 'em instead of reflexively hogging and forgetting you have to work for kills now.

Nah, it's pretty fun. Everyone deserves the chance to compete for it. The 'magnet' on the edge in this game, however, is absurd compared to Brawl. You can go below the screen come back with all of your jumps and Up+Special, see that you missed it by a good couple of feet (in-game) and see you get snapped to the edge.

Don't know how this happened, but as CF I was using my recovery to get back from the ledge at a decent distance to get a sweet spot, but a Lil Mac was able to down-smash my recovery. Could be just Falcon, or it could be just Mac or it could be a very small window to actually edge guard

Unless I see the "black lightning" when I connect a hit, I fully assume the opponent will make it back no matter how far they're sailing. It's less disappointing that way!

They can still make it back even if the black lightning effect shows :)
