The last two videos are private and I can't watch them.

The first one, your Link needs some work. If I had to say one thing off the bat, it's that your Link is too slow, he needs to get fast. Also, vs Pika, use more projectiles to get his damage up and get into combo setups.

Also more situationally, don't use up+b to stop ledgehopping opponents, and don't utilt twice in a row under a platform that your opponent is on unless you want to get owned in between the utilts - you're not kirby after all. :p

Ok the videos are viewable

Yea I realize more boomerangs and bombs. Its good to play against guys like pikachu and fox. I'm become somewhat better since that video, but not skillful enough. I do see potential with link as being probably one of thee best characters in the game along with fox and luigi because they require skills, tactics and patience and if you become good with them (mines luigi) then your unstoppable. Kirby and Falcon are characters to use if you wanna just get a game over with under 3 mins lol

Methinks Yoshi has the most potential...parries, shield counter, djc invinci and djc carry across the stage is mad. I love Link v Falcon and Link v Fox. I have to play super prediction though, which can lead to problems.

If it's possible, can I get my Link critiqued? I find I play sorta similar to Mike.

(vs Fox, ignore the SD, that was an accident)

cheeseball: Your technical skills need a lot of work. Z-canceling, teching/tech-rolling, and DI. Approach less with a dash attack and move with an aerial move. Use Link's u-air for defense a lot more. Don't use boomerang/pull out bomb so close to fast characters like Fox. Couple of specific things:

1:08 you used f-smash which was super sexy. However, I'm not entirely sure it was intentional. Most of the time when my opponent is coming around from over the **** tent I would opt for an u-air.
2:28 you used d-air when you should've used u-air to get a combo going (follow up with f-air, unless another u-air before f-air would've been possible).
2:38 you used a dash attack when up-b definitely would've been preferable.

And please, please update your graphics driver.

Benito we will definitely need to do some recordings next time I come up, which should probably be next month or something.

I like to practice my link against fox, but I notice if someones a smart or even decent fox player then all they have to do is shine cancel me off the cliff if not once, twice. Note to self: Fight Fox in the middle of any stage regardless!

I realized links u-tilt is pretty **** powerful, I just gotta get the opponents % high so I can do it continuously. And another problem I shouldve noted is that of all the characters, I always have trouble z-cancelling Links d-air. Does anyone else have this problem too? JUST with him most the time

When I mentioned that utilting, I meant that if you utilt twice in a row when Pika/any fast character is close to you and that first utilt DOESN'T connect, there is enough lag BETWEEN those 2 utilts for a Pika to get in and hit you. It has to be timed properly. So for example when you utilted at 1:57, instead of utilting a second time you should have immediately dashed out of the way OR SH uair'd, then made whatever choice from there.

As for the dair-canceling, just practice. Practice non-fastfalled dairs off platforms/ledges in Hyrule, then practice fastfalled ones. The problem with Link is that if he misses one dair z-cancel anywhere near the edge, it might mean a stock lost. :urg:

Funnily enough I find link's dair easy to Z cancel, but I cannot for the life of me get consistent with Marios, especially when doing the dair>uair combo :/

Sometimes you just can't help it...lag spikes and stuff online, plus Link's D-Air is probably one of the hardest moves to always Z-cancel (bounces screw you over on occasion).

If he hadn't missed the Z-cancel, he could have survived quite easily. If he hadn't jumped into the B-Air and just fallen and teched, you would've had a chance to survive (though techchase grabs probably would've gotten you). Even then, you missed your recovery. So yeah, there were a buncha things that would've helped you survive, but no big deal. I'd love to play American Links, the better Links on our server rarely come on.

Well, it is a sequel...if it wasn't like COD4 (which sold better than hotcakes, for lack of a better term), it wouldn't deserve it's name. COD4 was great though, I don't normally play shooters, and I liked it.

Yeh man, Cod4 was truly a masterpiece of a game, played it even more than smash (27 days online I think).

that wasnt the point. my point is dont miss important z-cancles.
I wasn't aiming it at you, and I was making my OWN point about it all. I was aiming at MiketheMike's response to THIS:

z-cancel was not the only reason for his death.
Because NixxxoN was right, and MiketheMike believed that the missed z-cancel was the ONLY reason for his death.

Link's dair isn't that hard to z-cancel. His uair is harder, especially fastfall uair.

Cod4 had an incredible Singleplayer. The Multiplayer got boring pretty fast.
After watching a review of MW2, I want it just for the Singeplayer!

Link's uair is the only attack I still miss the cancel for from time to time. occasionally DK's uair too. Actually Pika's fastfalled dair surprisingly, too. Gotta keep track of the diff. timings when you switch characters.

I have a lot of trouble with z-canceling Pika's f-air (only when hitting someone), and u-airs really close to the ground. I can SH d-air fastfall u-air with Luigi now with about 60% consistency, but I only get the cancel about 20% of the time.

The ***** thing about z canceling links d-air is that when i DO z cancel I end up using his hook shot. So as you can see it's got two downfalls on how you do it. same with samus and yoshi, but they're not as bad as links IMO

Do you Z cancel with R or something? The gayest ones to cancel for me are Kirby's drills. At least I always end up with a techchase though, which is good and bad.

Also, who buys COD4 for the singleplayer...?

No, with the z. But the reason I use hookshot is because with other characters after I, lets say, down drill I grab right after z canceling. its a bad habit
