Some Luigi Questions

Hi. I'm new to Luigi, so I have a couple questions about him.

1) Is he a popularly played character?

2) Does it take a lot of skill to play as him? Does it take a lot of skill to play as him well (when compared to other characters)?

3) Are there any matchups that you absolutely have to switch characters to play against the opponent, or is Luigi good against almost all characters?

4) Where do you think he'll be on the tier list

Thanks.

1) No, he's underused at the time being, not too much rep in tourneys so far.

2)Getting used to him is fairly easy...Mastering him is not. Best know he is an aerial fighter at his best so be prepared to do lots of things related to that.

3)DeDeDe and Meta Knight come to mind; The King has an infinite grab against Luigi, and Luigi is plain outspaced and outdone in the air by Meta Knight. Plus, he has no moves that can break a rising Mach Tornado other than hitting from above so either pick a secondary or be prepared to slug it out for a while!

4)Upper Mid Tier at best; he's got a lot of things you could want in a character; kills early, fast moves, great recovery, and his matchups aren't too shabby either; but the characters he has trouble with give him a lot of trouble. At his worst, we're looking at Upper Low Tier again... *Sigh* <_<

Wishing Apex 2012 happened again.
Gosh so many new players to Luigi lol.

1) No he isn't, Mario is even more popularer then him.

2) Yes he does take alot of skill and time to play him espically to play his full potential. He can be very deadly in the hands of skilled and expreinced players.

3) I guess so, but that completely is up to you. He does have most of an advantage against the cast, except for that mofo effin god top tier whores (coughs MK*). That's why it takes skill and time to use him at a full potential. Personally, I only have a secondary because of Luigi horrid disadvantage against god/top tier.

4) Mid tier or possibly if he had the chance, high tier but that'll never happen. He'll never go lower from his position though. But then again, tiers are for queers.

If you want to have fun and be competetive start playing with Wigi, hes a lot of fun and there arent too many match ups that hinder your possibility of winning.

1) Not really, at least not in tournaments.

2) It takes a lot to do really well with him competitively but to be decent, it's not too much work IMO.

3) D3 and MK are probably his worst match-ups (with snake and maybe some others right behind them). Unfortunately, since they are popular in the tournament scene, it can be very difficult to place well with luigi alone. Usually a higher/top tier character is picked as a backup.

4) Probably somewhere around mid-tier; maybe upper. I would have to say chillin's tier list is the most accurate concerning the current metagame
