Hi. I'm new to Kirby, so I have a couple questions about him.

1) Is he a commonly played character, or is he more on the Underused side?

2) Does it take a lot of skill to play as him? Does it take a lot of skill to play as him well (when compared to other characters)?

3) Are there any matchups that you absolutely have to switch characters to play against the opponent, or can Kirby defeat all characters? I mean, does he have a disadvantage so bad that all he can do is switch?

4) Where do you think he'll be on the tier list

Thanks.

most of these questions can be answered by searching the forums, the tier list question has a thread called Kirby meet tier list u can find out where he stands their, also one of the first threads says Kirby matchup rankings, U can c Kirby's matchups there.

In terms of skill it depends if ur trying to play competitively or just friendly.

1) I wouldn't say he's commonly played, but he's not underused, I'd say in between those.

2) It doesn't take a lot of skill to play as him, he's pretty easy to use, but it does take skill to play him well, although it doesn't take as much skill as other characters.

3) No, but there are some match-ups it's better to switch, like Marth and Snake. Look here http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=176103 to have a better idea.

4) Probably between upper and high mid.

i'm starting Kirby as well. good spacing is a must. with his air control you can space yourself into aerials and can do some interesting fake outs with all the jumps and what not. wicked ledge game.

note to anyone who cares:
full jump hammer FTW :)

i want to clarify my first post

he is def an underused character who is gaining popularity

he is easy to learn hard to master

In terms of picking a secondary. I'm seconding anyone right now just cuz i cant choose. But if ur very good at adapting ur playstyle then u dont have to change characters however it always helps to have a secondary so u can counterpick ur opponent
