Hi guys, I'm Ace, and I've been playing Smash for years. After competitively playing 64 and Brawl, I'm desperately trying to get into Melee. However, I'm sort of at a loss on how to train. Because I don't live in proximity of Melee events, I'm forced to go against level 9 cpu's. I'm pretty certain this is a terrible way to train. So other than watching professionals, reading guides, and practicing wavedashing, how can I improve on my own, so that I won't automatically look like a noob when I start playing good players. :c

You will look like a noob when you play good players. This isn't something to be ashamed of, it is the natural order of things. "The beginning of wisdom is the statement, 'I do not know'. The person who cannot make that statement is one who will never learn anything."

You are going to get your **** pushed in by good players the first time you play them. That is unavoidable and part of the natural order of things. Only from extended sessions of loss to better players will you learn what you must improve and you will grow from there.
