The point of Vocaloids was to bring cool clothes to Mabinogi.

Oh that song isnt bad but yeah Miku kinda... is eh. Go look at Kaito, Gakupo and Rin/Len sing it. They are MUCH better
While your at it, look up Daughter of Evil and Servant of Evil
I think it was "World is Mine" or something.
Mm.
Honestly, I've "heard" the Miku/vocaloid songs, and I must say that I actually do like them.
...
That being said, I say "heard" because I've never actually heard the original renditions of any of them(Except Irony, which is just bad), but instead, covers and transcriptions onto instruments such as guitar and piano. And they sound pretty good.

I'll be honest, I never did get the point of Vocaloids.
I don't either, but I get good music out of it, and I like music, so it works out for me.

I know nothing about Vocaloids, but my uneducated guess would be: dubstep for anime fans because anime fans only listen to Japanese music and there is no Japanese dubstep (probably).
There is no Japanese dubstep. Dubstep is the tryhard genre.

Dubstep + anime? L0L.
I heard of Vocaloids but I wasn't / am still not interested on listening to songs regarding them.

I pretty much have zero interest in Hastune Miku (and just Vocaloids in general) as it stands now.

I've never heard one of those songs, and I barely even want to check one out of curiosity.

I don't know, maybe I'm missing out on something I might like but it just doesn't really interest me...

As a matter of trivia, Vocaloid is a juxtaposition of two words: vocal and android.

Essentially, it's automated voice generator software that allows use for musical composition. If I'm not mistaken, the first ones were invented by Japanese company Yamaha. You probably know them as manufacturers of motorcycles and musical instruments.

The voices are actually sampled by voice actors and the software adjusts pitch and several other aspects for more flexibility.

Vocaloids are instruments. Their purpose is to be used like any other instrument; to make noise. On top of that, they allow people who aren't good at singing to compose songs with vocals--without the need to hire a vocalist.

Miku is one of my least favorite Vocaloids. Gumi, Len/Rin, and IA are much better, in my opinion.

I do not understand the point of the live-performances, could you perhaps explain that? I mean, I understand listening to music, but people go to these live concerts to hear what I assume is the same version of the song as it was generated via computer, correct? For instance, if you go to see an artist live, you are seeing the raw unedited performance. But with this, is it not the same version of the song? Or do people just like to pretend that Miku is real (based on the YouTube comments I read)?

Sorry for the interrogation. I am just curious.

The first Vocaloid software is called just that: Vocaloid. And had no mascot or anything like that. The first release dates back to 2004.

Hatsune Miku is just one of many derivatives.

Also, why don't some people here do some research on stuff? Google exists, you know... In the era of information, where you can find anything anytime, it's difficult to properly justify ignorance... Just saying.

Though let's face it, Substep is always better than Dubstep.

Because I don't give that much of a crap about Vocaloids to do so.

It's a pretty complex program that's basically allows users to manipulate voicebanks, creating whatever songs they like. And there's more than Japanese Vocaloids (one of my fave Vocaloid is Oliver, who has a British accent). English companies make them too. Crypton, the company that made a lot of popular Vocaloids like Miku, is very encouraging for aspiring artists and is pretty open to expanding the Vocaloid culture.

Of course, since it's really big in Japan, there's a lot of J-pop stuff out there. Though, there's some gems that I like. As for Miku, yeah, World Is Mine is very popular, but I'm not a big fan. There's better Miku songs out there imo.

Oh, if you're curious about all the technical stuff about the Vocaloid software like I was, check out this article. Really goes in-depth about explaining the software.

It's basically the same version of the song, though I've seen that oftentimes actual humans are playing the instruments.
To be honest, there isn't a reason to go to one aside from the experience. I, personally, do not want to go to one, though I admit it would be interesting to see the holograms dancing and whatnot.

Some of the better songs aren't even sung by Miku. Most of her songs are about one sided loves and crap or just her being a *****

I like the songs that tell little stories like The Game of Life, as well as Six Trillion Years And Overnight Story. (Again, covers by other people).
Also, the lyrics to Irony are pretty depressing.

Im eating a salad and I just found out why I feel so sick. I haven't eaten a salad in a LONG time and I have to get used to it again. Good thing this salad is good
And what if the bass goes up?
Son, You got yourself some Nightcore

I think
Either that or the world go crazy in confusion

Basically, if the bass drops, you have yourself dubstep. Or at the very least some hybrid genre with dubstep as an influence.
Indeed, that's pretty much dubstep. Once the bass drops with those sound effects, you know it's dubstep. Techno dubstep is also a thing I guess..
Even though I think real music is garbage for the most part, some are hilarious.
