But past that, then wait? Link has no raw personality outside of what the player goes through. Which is the point of Link.

He's not Samus or Fox that have set-up characters. He is far more so the silent player avatar.

I wouldn't say that. OoT and MM Link yeah, but TP Link and WW Link have a bit of a personality if you look close. Not sure about SS Link though.
He has a high distaste for these things though.
