All these picture tells me is, "World one is the Grass world."
And that's true for pretty much every Mario game.
And I don't really get how NSMB rides Mario 1 nostalgia. I own all 4 games, (And NSLU) and I've personally never gotten that impression.
You didn't notice at all how the first three pictures had completely different goal posts? They didn't just stick with the flagpole and call it a day, they tried new things. New mechanics, new visuals. I wasn't trying to point out the similar level themes, but rather, each game looking exactly the same. I mean, it looks like they even still use the same model of Mario from the DS.
Also, the entire point of
New Super Mario Bros. was that it was going back to the first game. Which was fine the first time.
Hell, they could have made NSMB2 like SMB2 (USA) and NSMB3 like SMB3 and NSMBU like World. Way better already.
