It's really funny that I only go to Welcome Center / Social Thread now. Back then when I joined, it was all about the 3DS madness.

I'd presume last year it was Smash all round (myself included), but now that's long gone (except of course loads and loads of DLC) what are people hyped for here? I'd have to say Xenoblade Chronicles X. For it to beat Zelda U and Fire Emblem if is really saying something. But Splatoon and Battlefront will also be day 1 purchases.

I have heard of PKHex, but never understood what it does. Doesn't just catching a legendary in a legit way and changing nature/IV's get through hack check?

I'm not sure. I made some Pokémon with that thing, traded them, did some battles with them and nothing happened.
Of course I made them look legit with no 6 IVs. For example, I made a Shiny HP Ground Modest Pixilate Sylveon and that is 31/x/31/30/30/31. I did some battles with it and it worked. Never did I see "Your Pokémon has a problem!" messages.
edit: To answer your question, PKHex is the PokéGen of Gen 6
