For a second I thought I was hitting a wall with Pikachu, but after some more play with some friends, I found I'm still improving a bit.
Doesn't stop that my play with Toon Link has been improving much more rapidly.

As it stands, for the time being, yes.
Which is ****ing weird for me, but since I started Project M about a few months before Smash 3DS's release, I've found the character variety I was slowly building up with Brawl showed me I can be proficient with more than just Pikachu (who has a chasm in between him and my second best in both 64 and Melee for me).
15 years of Smash and I'm just now personally finding to be a bit better with characters other than Pika.

Oh lol, I see. This was the opposite for me. I actually used Toon Link back when the 3DS version was released. Those Bomb LCs man. Too bad they patched it out.
I don't use Tink anymore. I don't even know what character should I use as a "secondary" lol

Well that wasn't really too big of a loss for me. I'd been using Young Link mostly as a secondary in Melee and replaced him for the obvious Toon Link in Brawl so any adapting in Smash 4 was pretty smooth, patches and all.
It seems like every Pika main picks up Young/Toon Link, why is that? O.o

That's really weird. Probably because Pika has a problem with sword characters (though not as much in Smash 4) or because.... I dunno.

It's just something funny I've found. And the funny thing about is we're like a hivemind. Most of us don't consciously say "okay, this pro player uses this character as a secondary and the same main as me, so I should pick up their secondary". We all just sort of adopt the other character.

Rysir spears Hunter in his abdomen.
Sehnsucht attempts to climb a tree, but falls to his death.
Raccoon shoots an arrow at Oboro, but misses and kills Flight instead.
Ffamran dies trying to escape the arena.

Luggy begs for SmashRiver to kill him. He reluctantly obliges, killing Luggy.
Platinum bashes Opossum's head in with a mace.
Cyber bleeds out due to untreated injuries.
Night 1
Sponge severely injures Oboro, but puts her out of her misery.
Day 2
Sheriff Woody sets an explosive off, killing Radical Beam.
Nintendo-Spider pushes James off a cliff during a knife fight.
Night 2
No deaths occurred.

Raccoon decapitates The guy no one can tag with a sword.

Platinum tricks Nintendo-Spider into killing SmashRiver.

I was such a psycho that time. I'm kinda glad Spongebob killed me.

Just created two more stages today. Both Tourian based. One is the room where you fight Mother Brain and the other is that long escape shaft with the elevator on top. Needless to say, I would not recommend stock matches in either one. While stock is somewhat doable in the first one, time is more workable. For the shaft one, I'd recommend coin battle (like anyone ever plays that). I tried time, and sudden death lasted a long time...
