So how many frames of shieldstun does a needle give?

Does the shieldstun increase for every needle and if so by how much?

If possible can someone tell me how many frames it takes for sheik to drop through a platform and needle on say... battlefield?

7 frames of shield stun on a completely held down shield, and 10 frames of shield stun on a light shield if you hit their shield with one needle.

23 frames of shield stun on a strong shield, 24 frames of shield stun on a light shield starting when the first needle hits if you hit them with fully charged needles. (note this is when you do standing needles, too lazy to test if aerial needles matter)

22 frames to completely pass thru the platform and throw needles. (on battlefield)

Seven frames of shield stun? Seriously?

That doesn't match up with Scotu's formula...

And lightshields have more shieldstun?

Dunno, scotu's formula for shieldstun is like... (4+damage)/2.something or another.

Who knows. There's so much random information out there I don't even know what's right anymore.

o snapsies i dont know frames, i do think its quicker to run off platform edge and needle, but sometimes u isai drop through for different spacing.

hmm....7 frames shieldstun is pretty pathetic, but seeing as there is no landing lag, anymore would be kinda ridicks. 23 is not bad.

i jus came back from a local cleveland thing and got my losers finals+grand finals set recorded, should be up next week. I cant beat the 4% fox...help meeeeeeeeeee, i guess ud have to see the set first

o this is soap btw

Seven frames of shieldstun is a LOT.

You only have four frames landing lag, so that's a three frame advantage, which pretty much secures the grab unless they buffer a spotdodge/roll in which case you could punish afterwards.

Plus if you're trying to hit their shield close to the ground, you'd probably charge more than one needle, which will stun them all the way until you can grab them.

Assuming the figures are right, of course.

im pretty sure u dont hit the ground the instant the needle hits in most cases, so its not as reliable shield pressure as you would think

how much stun is there if u crouch cancel a needle?

Theres 9 frames of hitstun while crouching, though it's not really crouch cancelling as you're still getting knocked back in the same sort of animation as if you were standing. Theres 15 frames of hitstun if you're standing.

The reason I wouldn't call it crouch cancelling is because with crouch cancelling you stay crouching even though you were hit and then you can do a move right after, however with a needle you can't do a move right after being hit, you have alot more hitstun from a CC'd needle than you do a CC'd Nair.

hitlag i believe is the first few frames u are in lag from getting hit by the move, like samus charge shot i think is good example, stun is the rest of the time ur spinning

It doesn't seem like there would be, 'cause there's no shieldstun and shieldlag, just shieldstun...

Does that make sense?

but its a projectile, so you have no hitlag on your character either.

in summary from my experience needles dont truly combo but leaves only a predictable escape that is easy to pick up on

And that would be?

Also, I'm wondering... when Sheik starts charging her needles, are the first few frames non-cancelable with L? If so how many frames must you wait until you can cancel the needle charge?

7 frames... if u shot low enough u should be able to keep pressure

dont shoot rising needles
Awwwww yea =D

Sheik is hax :bee:

Yea rising needles are terrible :(. I agree.

I'm not thinking of that situation though :) so its allll good :)

Maaaan why don't I have a copy of melee in my dorm room :(. I really wanna try and practice some random tech skill :(.
