Hey SmashBoards, friendly Ohio T.O. Doppler12 here. I'm putting up my own money to guarantee sponsor at least 5 players who attend my events to go Nexus in Omaha on July 22nd-23rd. A tournament on the PM Circuit that also has Melee and WiiU.

This sponsorship includes free travel (carpool leaving from Piqua; You meet me, I don't get you), free Hotel, and free entry into official events at Nexus. Food and etc. is on you.

Brackets Ran:

WiiU and PM every week.

N64 is a Bi-weekly usually.

N64 weeks are this smashboards event

Every other week is this Smashboards event.

The facebook group for the league is this page. This is where you will be able to see point rankings.

All information ripped from the facebook description:

This is the new Smash & Drafts Series.

Will start using this page when Season 1 starts on April 24th.

I will be taking the highest scoring players to Nexus in Omaha, for free*.

I choose Nexus because its on the Project M circuit and has Melee and WiiU as well.

This Season we will be starting at 5pm instead of 6pm, so be there on-time, I will start without you.

Doppler's Stupid Rule: You may only enter 2 events maximum, and depending on attendance (>32 players) I may force you to choose 1.

Smash & Drafts Events:
Smash 64 singles (Bi weekly until attendance justifies weekly)
Project M singles
WiiU singles

Costs:
$5 per bracket
$5 T.O. fee (Is used to pay for national trip, think of it as a savings plan)

How scoring will work for season 1

10 points for each Smash & Drafts attended
10 points for each full setup brought and used
5 points for each person you drove(carpool hype)
5 points for each bracket entered
X Points based on placement in each bracket

Maximum of 10 brackets will counted (will use highest scoring brackets if you enter more than 10 brackets in the season)

Brackets will be worth the ‪#‎ of Entrantsx5‬=BracketValue (BV)
Placings earn
Top 4 earn (BV)
Top 8 earn (BV/2)
Top 16 earn (BV/3)
Top 32 earn (BV/4)

I think its obvious on how this pattern works.

End of season point bonus will be max score (best 10 brackets) multiplied by total number of Events attended divided by 6(approximately half of the total number of events this season).

The scoring, while rewarding better players with more points, gives lower level players a chance of earning a free national trip they otherwise could not make with strong attendance and mid level placings. It also promotes players entering both games increasing the prize pool from week to week.

The last Smash & Drafts of Season 1 will be July 10th, the players eligible for Nexus will be announced no later than July 11th.

*Free means I will cover travel costs (Renting a van, and paying for gas, it's up to you to meet me in Piqua for the carpool), Housing (getting a hotel room) and Tournament Entry fees(up to 3 events). This does not include food, souvenirs, or money matches.

I will also take no less than 5 players, depending on turnout for the season as a whole, I could take more.

Hey it was Monday, so as you know its weekly beer review and Smash & Drafts results time.

I first had the Madtree PSA, which was not good so we'll forget about that one. Was supposed to be a balanced session ale, was bitter all the way through and tasted of nothing but dank.

Then I had the Jackie O's Morning Cloak. Was far better. Had good wheat body with a nice citrus hops. Was very drinkable.

We had DirtBoy, EyeHeartLoveTap, ChosenJuan came down from Michigan.

Katakiri, XYK, SoulPech, and Re Jeriahs, all came over from Columbus.

Cataghetti and StoneyB came up from Columbus.

From Dayton we had Doppler12, Lunick, Clone Army, Cero, and Roach.
