So. Why does everything think you have to B stick to Zap jump and stuff?

I can do the Zap Jump just fine on the Gamecube controller if I place my index finger on the B button and my middle finger on the jump button. It's simple, I can make it work everytime.

I can also do the SH PKF wavebounce backwards easily. Just jump backwards and use a PKF. It's that easy. B sticking just seems useless.

zap jumping with normal controls actually seems easier to me than using the b-stick honestly but I couldn't magnet pull that way. So I'm repicking up b-sticking because of that. Definitely feels harder to be consistent with the b-stick though.

PK power, what you're doing is the DAPKWL (look in the techniques thread), not a traditional wavebounce. normal bsticking makes it easier to extend pk fire's range by juping forward while keeping safe by retreating mid move. It also has the advantage of not being as retreat oriented as DAPKWL, which makes you run out of stage and requires the opponent to be chasing you for any effect.

I can approach or retreat with DAPKWL Levitas though. I just see that B sticking seems useless because you are deprived of dsmash out of no where vs fast people or the stick for quick reflects.

Edit: Crap I put everything instead of everyone for the title >.< oh well.

I find that b-sticking just makes controlling myself much easier when using PKF. Controlling spacing is a big deal for me, since I use Lucas to counter MK. I rarely ever use zap jumping (maybe vs a G&W who won't let me recover).

Having c-smashes is useful. I could think of a few situation where my bat stick came out too slow. I've been using f-tilt a lot more; it pushes them back and comes out faster. Not as great for kills though.

Seanson, your sig is made of win.

I would have assumed it was obvious that B-Sticking isn't needed for a Zap Jump, since all you're doing is using PK Fire at the same time you use your second jump. B-Sticking it is easier to do on the fly, though, and lets you Magnet Pull as well. I'd hazard that the latter is why some assume you need to B-Stick to use it. (And to be fair, you don't get a lot of horizontal momentum out of it, so a Magnet Pull is pretty much needed if you're recovering unless you're right next to the edge.)

You don't need to B-stick to zap jump, just to, well, b-stick.
That's not a B-stick as stated above. That's the Dapkewl.
B-sticking DOES have it's uses outside the dapkewl because it allowsyou to just forwards instead of backwards then retreat. It also allows you to B-stick other specials for whatever reason you may want.
I prefer to B-stick because it's **** hard to B-stick without the C-stick while pulling off a dsmash or fsmash is quite eas without the C-stick.

zap jumping is actually way easier for me with L as jump, as it is fast and easy. i tried b sticking but it wasnt anything special when it comes to zap jumping.
