I notice Palutena Down tilt is the only move which I never use for some reason.

I know that you can shield quickly after, but I feel more comfortable using Jab and F tilit to keep opponents out.

In what situations should I be using Down tilt?

Feels like im missing out on maximising this character if im not using all available moves.

I tend to use it if I anticipate a grab or occasionally I'll Jump>Jump again while advancing then retreating>FastFall>D-tilt
Works a lot surprisingly.

Does it evade grabs or something? Or do you mean to keep people away who are charging in?

Basically if someones charging in you use it. At least that's all I see it being useful for.

I usually use it to catch rolls, spot dodges, and standard get ups.

Yeah, it's pretty good for catching rollers and spot dodges because of the surprisingly long hitbox. It's also decent against rushdown characters as a mixup.

D-tilt stays out much longer than jab, so I use it when the enemy is closing the gap or when they roll towards me. There a good bit of room for error with that move.

I don't use it at all really, except maybe if I know that someone is going to roll at me. This and her ftilts are moves that I'd only use by accident

When the opponent is at very high percentages (180%+), down-tilt is a kill move.
