Mkay. So, a few weeks ago, my Wii was having some.... technical problems. The disc spinner was compressing on itself, stopping the disc from consistantly reach full speed.
One day, my wii fell down. The driver never spun a disc again. That last landing was the tipping point for my white rectangle.

Fortunately for me, my brother hardly ever uses his Wii anymore, so I just borrowed his.
But now, I see that HIS Wii also has problems. It spins and reads discs just fine, but it takes so obsurdadly long to do so, by the time the disc is done preparing itself, Gecko OS has given up looking for the disc.

Pretty much, I either need to get the Wii fixed up, or I need some way to give GeckoOS a larger timeframe to spin the disc so the disc can get up to speed.

Help?

Use BootMii to remove the HBC, take out Gecko OS and any other hacks from your Wii, and have Nintendo repair it. They'll fix it as long as there's no HBC. You'll get your Wii back in around 2 weeks at its full capacity...at what price, I can't remember, but I did it and it worked like a charm

Or he can take the easy way out and not have to pay anything and download backups of his games and use the USB Loader instead...

Which I will not tell you how to do, in which case, consult Google or gbatemp forums.

And it would be about $80 for a full repair btw, that's how much mine was and dare I say, a few months later, I found myself facepalming at the release of the USB Loader wishing I hadn't gotten it repaired (since I wouldn't then have paid anything).

Seconded. The USB loader is very convenient, because you don't have to burn discs anymore. Also, stuff loads much faster off a USB.

Check on craigslist and search for some wii repair services near you. It's what I did when I dropped my friend's wii and screwed the drive.
