Once the game comes out and everyone on these boards has Smash... you seriously will never resort to the With Anyone mode because you are just going to dominate them all completely.

You'll have a Friend list maxed at all times, with tons of competition at all times in the day...

It may seem like a big deal at first, but think about it...

With Anyone was designed for quick play.

To take full advantage of settings, you're forced to play With Friends in order to make these adjustments. I'm personally not complaining about that, as long as there's some way to be able to customize game settings.

Sure, you have to take the time to exchange friend codes and it seems the game can only be played to its full potential with 'friends' you've made and have personally added to your list--and same on their side. But honestly, who didn't expect this from Nintendo?

If anything, I'm just worried about the limit of friends you can add. You might just run out of space eventually to add new ones.

And this does not bother me too much since I will probably be playing with friends 9 out of 10 times I am playing online. Still, it would be nice if there was some type of way to change settings on Anyone mode...

Nope. Its always 4 or 2v2 AFAIK. I was watching a stream and he was using with anyone, they couldn't find a 4th person after a minute I think so it just gave them a Diddy CPU.

Well, it was litterally meant for quick plays.

Also, I'm sure you can change the modes online quick play. Otherwise, deal with it. Thats all I can really say.

this PLAY WITH ANYONE is subject to change. It is in a sense, a playlist. Without the list. Nintendo can change the time i hope. I doubt theyd release a game that supports online play without someway to tweak it. For instance if there are ways to glitch out online play, im sure they have methods to change or manipulate things to fix it.

Im sure once the game comes out and its only 2min fights, we will raise hell in Nintendo's email. Enough complaints and im sure Nintendo will have no problem changing it too 5 mins.

Remember, the 2min limit is not made by the disc, but by the connection to the wifi network.

Sakurai probably didn't want anyone to feel left out. With stock, once a player runs out of lives, they can't do anything except watch, so for certain Wi-Fi battles, so everyone can play til the end, those battles are timed.

the play with anyone options (as already said) is like a quick play option. its meant for ANYONE to go and play. not just the tourny people, but people who want to have fun with out the over competitiveness that some of you guys have (no offense). time battles allow EVERYONE to play the whole match. if you lose, you dont have to sit there and watch the rest of the game. its a way for everyone to enjoy the whole match.

I can't believe I have to wait until somebody on my friends list wants to play if I want a proper match. I shouldn't be forced into two minute long free for alls if I want to play against random people. They couldn't even do something as simple as making the free for alls last a little longer. The developers are ****ing ********, I'm glad that this is Sakurai's last Smash game.

To add onto this Im watching a different stream now, 4 FFA and they couldnt find a player after a minute or so for the 2nd slot and it started without a CPU. Maybe theres an option? Who knows.

You have to understand, not everything about Brawl is going to be picture perfect. If you want those matches, then play with only friends or just avoid online play altogether. Your still getting the game anyways.

I've been watching a stream for about 5 hours off and on, seems that 2v2/44a is the restriction for random play... but really, there won't be a reason for random play, your friend codes will be full of TONS of people to play. If you're smart you'll co-ordinate your codes in a 4 link chain, so that your friends have different friends that can join there matches with you in them.

With anyone is only time. The only setting you can change for With Anyone is items.
With friends lets you tweak everything.

You can do 1v1 if you both press start after you find one opponent I believe.
