in friendlies for the first time..well at least against a good one..and preceded to get gimped at under 20% twice...

once by edgeguarding too close and getting upaired off when he ledgehopped an upair..

and then another time because i was ****** him and then i followed him off too far and got teleport ledgehogged...fun times though;p

but ya..then ether came over and helped me a little with the matchup..i was surprised that he managed to get off WD back to fsmash a few times on me..it has pretty nice range..usually i just wD back and nair approach if i manage to see them overextend themself..that way i'm not in lag..but maybe i should incorporate more fsmashing?

Remember pikas range is all in the jolts and fsmash other than that he has got nothing in terms of range(I forgot up air)

i think you were marth right

just space the fair well and remember he is as heavey as falco so the up throw combos are very effective

How'd you figure out the marth thing As$ XD. And no way he's close to as heavy as falco o_O.
Plus I don't think the range battle vs marth is as bad as its made out to be. It's easy for marth to mindgame you into thinking such things though. As long as you get used to the spacing in the matchup and are able to get nairs in on the marth, and don't hessitate because of the fear of getting tippered, he gets a lot easier for pika. If you can't... he's just a lot better than you are XD.
Main thing for pika that works is dodging marths aerials when he's approaching and downsmashing or jump-cancelling an upsmash out of shield (a bit more situational...). Rising uair works very well to keep marth from outspacing you too, and leads to a normal aerial a lot of the time (Pika really doesn't want to rack up 80 damage in all upairs x_X)...

For Marth... rawr...
WDing back into Fsmash works really well against pika when he's on the approach. Generally, if you can get pika near the ledge, while spacing well with Fairs, f-tilts, and d-tilts, he's in a bad position... and I think upthrowing pikachu is a lot safer for the pika than the other three, which all lead to Fsmashes at certain points (Depending on DI).
