So I can finally L-cancel Falco's Dair

This really does not need a thread just to say that you managed to frame cancel Falco's Dair.

Anyway, to answer your question, most people say that frame canceling is more of a punish option rather than anything else. Approaching with Dair is telegraphed and landing it can be difficult in the heat of battle, so it's more of a punish option where if you know about frame canceling, then you can pull off an amazing punish. Case in point: Ganondorf can frame cancel Dair to Up Smash for around 45%. Welcome to the Falco boards.
