So, everybody can boost grab, and Fox's is really long?

My friends and I are playing a lot of Melee recently (tourney today, fingers crossed) and last night found that everybody can Boost Grab.
We've been PM people for several months, and I finally got them into melee, and this has literally upset one of my friends, because Fox's boost grab is longer and faster than Sheik's (his main).

I just want to know why I never see this used, like, ever. I know JC'd grabs are faster but surely this has a purpose. I've been using it to catch opponents that begin back WD-ing by JC grabs, and it works beautifully.

So, what's the deal?

I kind of like boost grabbing with Fox. The problem is that it is really laggy compared to jump-cancelled grab. But I think it still has its applications. Sometimes a character will throw out a laggy move which would put you in harm's way if you tried JC'd grab. Something like peach d-smash comes to mind. Other times boost grab is good to catch tech-rollers. So it seems like a good punish to bad/readable options but you'll get punished too if you use it at the wrong time. Also, watch out because it moves your grab range, you can't grab someone right next to you with a boost grab.
