Im trying to get as much experience as I can..which is why im entering a bunch of tournaments this year. I have a tournament comming up this saturday actually..so I need lots of help with Falco.

What I already know:
SHL
Shine-cancling
And this combo that I spam alot: d-air, shine, b-air or another d-air.
I also edge guard with d-air(very effective).
I l-cancel all of my air moves and I also spam SH n-air and SH b-air alot.

What I know I need to work on..but cant~ quite get:
Wavedashing(with Falco). Its pretty hard to wavedash with Falco for some reason, as its easy and simple with characters like Marth or Ice Climbers. So is there any easier method to learning the wavedash with Falco? Since ive been practicing it alot..but I cant quite get it still >.<

I also need to learn more effective combos with Falco(especially combos that dont require wavedashing), so it'll be helpful if I knew more combos to keep me from being predictable.

So you got the SH and others? Good for you. Nothing does better for wavedashing than an hour of practice. Lemme warn you now, if you practice as an easier to wavedash guy, you'll screw up your timing. No, the best thing to do is to practice, practice, practice. And have patience, you'll get it eventually.

Laijin, Sideem Slingh's right, the only thing you need to do so far is training and training with a character like fox or just with all characters, you'll learn that the timing for the wavedash is different for almost all characters.

I don't know but, you should try playing "random" except for Pichu, maybe it will affect your skill. It did a lot for me. But still... I am a noob. :)

Falco's jump is delayed so remember to time your air doge a little later than ussual. If you fight a heavy player, remeber you can get up to three reflectors in to them just by jumping with them, And I am not sure if this is banned in tourniments, but If you fight Fox then remember, that if you score a grab on him through him down, fox will stand right back up unlike most characters after the attack is done, and you can then grab him again and repeat the process, until fox has about 90 damage, practice getting the timing for it perfect, a fox player will not be able to do anything until you mess up,
Well I take that back a fox player can get out but only if he is me and can press the b button 12 times a second, and gets a reflector on you. But other wise practice it before you get to your tourniment, and youll have a advantage over most Fox user's. You can't even time the L button to get away from the grab if your fox and falco gets a down grab into you, If you know this already I am sorry for taking up space on your post.

I use to use falco as my main character until I saw Fox had a alot of potential. Try mastering the timing for short hop laser shot so it is as close to the ground as possible, and master using it and advancing toawrd your enemy at the same time as well.

If you wan't to know any other hints with Falco I will tell you waht I know.

Not really. Well, wavedashing with Falco will probably work for mind games. It does for me, sometimes... :D

Well if you don't then mind games are much harder to play, and it wave shining better to know than not to know it. It really is just a matter of time as Slignh said, practice it every now and then but once you get wave dashing wave shining is easy. The biggist thing is have a larger variety of possible attacks when knowing how to do it.

Silver Fox is right, waveshine with Falco is also a good way to add combos with Falco. It can be very usefull, if you can do it. Practice. :)

go to training mode and and go to the highest spot in the middle of hyrule temple to, it should be a flat area, and practice wave dashing, and if you mess up and fall off you won't die. Just keep the delay in falco's jump in mind, after you get the hang of it it becomes a natural for you to pull it off.

I find WDing with Falco a must - wavedanced SHLs are a pain for the foe ^_^
If you feel like really hittin gpro-style, approaching SHL to WD forward to another approaching SHL - they won't know what hit 'em.
Once again, I'll refer to the Falco-guide in this Fox/Falco char. spec, it's on the second page.

FOX ROX MY SOX!!!

--and falco's jump has a tiny bit of delay; try timing your air dodge to when you see him about to start his jump [jump animation]. ive noticed that he crouches down briefly before he lifts off, something not common amongst others.

on the topic of its usefullness... well. one can't begin to describe the many ways a good falco player can use and/or abuse a simple wd. A wd backwards with a followed in-your-face smash could turn the tide of any battle, in an instant XD

happy SHLing

Falco's best finishing moves are forward smash, down smash, and ariel back A, if you get that into them when they have over 80 or 90 damage, it will send them flying really fast. You already know the edge gaurding tactic.

False falco is right on that, it just takes time, see which attack you are better at doing at when shuffling, and emphasize on that. Then once youve mastered it try for a harder one. A way to ensure to do this is go to training mode and before you leave the training mode when you are done, make sure to do at least 4 or 5 shffl's conteniously then you can exit, the better you get do more.

There.
for me right now, shffl'ing is 10 times easier than SHLing. especially if i'm going for fast SHLs low to the ground. or if i'm trying to RSHL or something.

tip: for dair shffl's try to do the dair with the c-stick, then fastfall with the control stick. actually i honestly can't imagine doing it any other way O_o....do a lot of other ppl do this?

Jump press down+A during the rise of the jump, return control stick to neuteral, then fastfall and lcancel.

I learned it the training mode way unfortunatley. I don't recommend it.

Add in the downtilt ^_^

Yup, training mode shffl. It's really a pattern, X - down - A - down - L (for me). I focused for a while and down - A - down again, it's really a rhytm, and, well, that goes automatically now.

How effective is this finishing move?
Approaching SHFFL into a d-tilt.
Never used it on a human before, but it works well on the CPU.

The downtilt KOs faster than the upsmash... that would speak for itself, but try it out, if you haven't already.
And it reckon it reaches under shields sometimes ^_^
Not ofter though, and a shffl will most likely be shielded or carrying the opponent too far for you to use the dtilt immediatly. Wd anyone?

Well the reflector is a faster choice, but if they have over 80 to 90 damage chances are if it hits, then they willl probably die, dawn tilt is a strong move.

Just so people know the downthrow tricksies that Silver Fox mentioned don't work, Fox can just shine out of it.
