While trying to get my old SNES to work, afetr discovering it in the attic after 10 years of dormancy, I was able to successfully get the system running. I was at the title screen of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, and the file select menu appeared. After deleting an old file and accidentally choosing the wrong one, I reset the system. Since then, the game will not register any button input, simply replaying the title screen and prologue. I tried another game (Mortal Kombat), but the same issue occurred. The controller was just working perfectly, then suddenly died, any quick fixes to get it running again?

P.S.S. There may also be *something* in it for whoever solves my problem...

Where people get NOTHING.
My Sega Genesis does this to me once in a while. It'll freeze up on me and I won't be able to get anything to work.

Try unplugging the controller and plugging it back in. Also try holding onto the cartrdige and holding pressed in different posistions and see if that affects anything.

Sometimes on my genesis I would have to tape a cartridge so that it stayed "leaning back" in order for it to actually play.

I would also try hitting the reset button and also making sure it along with your other buttons are not partially engaged.

Hope one of those things help.

Blow on it.

jk, I'm betting it's just your controller. I would try to take it apart first to see if a wire's loose. Chances are you'll have to replace it.
