Ok, this might not be a technique, but I dunno what else to call it. I was messing around with my friend who plays Falco, and as we all know, he can chain grab you, and sometimes go to the edge, which can sometimes resulting in an easy spike. Sometimes he hits me a couple of times, so I decided to start mashing buttons to get out of it, and one time, I pulled out a grenade in the time that he threw me before he grabbed me again. So basically all you do is mash the B button and hopefully you'll drop a nade and when he D-throws you, he'll hit the nade and both of you will blow up. It's up to you to decide whether you'd rather take a chainthrow to the edge or a nade in the face though. I still choose the nade anyways, but meh...

I don't know if this works with other people who can chaingrab, so if you guys wanna try it out go ahead.

Oh, and if this was common knowledge forgive me for making this thread...

Are you sure the Falco didn't mess up? Even the slightest delay could have allowed you the window to pull out that nade. Otherwise, the falco chain grab on Snake is fast and pretty much unstoppable until give or take 50% when done perfectly.

I did manage to do this once, one day I had a falco just chain grab me non-stop, but never manged to do it again. I think this was a fluke.

Oh, so I guess this only works if the Falco is not perfect with his chain throw. But still, I don't think many people will be able to frame perfect chain throw, so I'm always gonna be mashing B when Falco tries to chain throw me.

Haha yea doing anything possible wouldn't hurt because you're banking on the Falco messing up. It's your only hope :/

It's fairly easy to avoid Falco's chain grab by pulling out a grenade. I've played a number of Falco's and have been able to do this with no problem. After awhile I just noticed that the Falco's started to mix up the chain grab, with a down throw to a forward throw so they wouldn'y be hit with the grenade. By far the hardest chain grab to get out of is Dedede's. However if you catch the right frame you can pull out a grenade to stop the chain grab the same way you do with Falco.

Jab > D3's chain grab, really.

Though this can in turn cause the d3 to start mixing up his throws with ftilt/delay too.

I really have never successfully pulled a nade out when caught in falco's chaingrab unless the player messes up. How do you guys do this ? >.>
