What's SMBU? SMBU is the Rio Grande Valley's largest and most competitive Super Smash Bros. Melee tournament. This is the second year running, and this year promises to be even more competive and over all better than last year. With already over 40+ signed up and ready to compete. Will you be there??

This year we hope to top last years efforts by far, with more prize money, and competition. So if you're interested in attending, post up so we can discuss housing arrangements. See you there.

Competition starts @ 1:00 PM
Fees: $3 pre-registration
$5 at the door if not pre-registered

Buy-in: $10 for Singles
$5 for doubles ($10 per team)
Prizes:
1st Place - 70% of prize pot. Atleast $500
2nd Place - 15%
3rd Place - 10%
4th place - 5%
No pay out for 3rd place in teams.

Random Stages
Final Destination, Fountain of Dreams (singles only) Battlefield, Pokemon Stadium, Yoshi's Story, Dreamland 64


Counter Stages
Pokefloats, Mute City (singles only), Rainbow Cruise, GREEN M'FN GREENS, DK64, Jungle Japes, Corneria, Mushroom Kingdom ll (doubles only), Brinstar maybe one more level, who knows.​

Bracket: Either 32 or 64 depending on final entries. Double Elimination. This will be seeded based on known skill level's.

Sets: All rounds with the exception of the respective finals will be best of 3. Finals will be best of 5, yeah back to 5 (time issues).

Stage Striking is on.
D.S.R. is in effect.
Wobbling technique is banned!
Every other known glitches or stall techniques are banned.

How about it Laredo smashers? Valley's attended your tournaments twice now, plus helped run one back in December that would have been a bust had some not had tourney knowledge. Corpus Christi likewise has no excuse not to attend. REMEMBER! Valley players will be able to pick anyone up that comes via bus. We will not leave you hanging, and helpless.

Not really,

i have known sos and kyle for a while now , i met sos about 1 year before i met mikey and about 2 years before i met fro. Kyle is his protege and they play together but, i don't think i hurt SOS's feelings. Kyle started the conversation not me, actually he said some things i could of lashed out at but i did not. There is no bad blood between me and sos or kyle. I will be housing sos and kyle when they come down and we will have plenty of friendlies and stuff . So understand the situation before giving advice.
