I liked Reflection, but eh, I'm sure we can come up with something better.

My thougts exactly. Reflection can be like our safety, just in case.

If we can get this done ASAP the artwork threads can be posted.

The name of the ability isn't that important, I'm sure we could get the artwork threat up now, to save time.

I'm still going to throw out names for it.

Impersonate maybe?

That already exists though (basically) on Kecleon.

Honestly, just call it Camouflage since nobody uses that move anyway.

Camoflauge would only make sense if you're standing next to an army of the same type of Pokémon as your opponent.

How about Mimicry?

It manages to avoid having the exact same name as a pre-existing move (Mimic), and also makes sense, since the Pokemon is "mimicking" the type of the other Pokemon.

Or we can be unoriginal and call it Copy.

...Actually, it might be better to save naming the ability till after we decide on the art, since some names would be more suited to certain concepts (i.e. a robotic-looking Pokemon would be more suited to having "Copy" as an ability as opposed to "Mimicry").

Mimicry sounds good. Actually, at this point, we might as well name it whatever fits the Pokémon itself the best. IE, get the artwork thread up.

Not all Pokemon need a secondary ability. That's pretty much it. Also, having two abilities on SmashCAP 3 takes away from the genuinity of the Pokemon.

I'm sorry for the bump, but with our server recently founded we have been able to use the SmashCAP to great success (more or less). With SmashCAP 3 near its finishing stages we discovered that the ability Writer intended for SmashCAP 3 to have, would be impossible to program onto our server. This means we have to trace our steps back here, and discuss new ability ideas for SmashCAP 3. Once complete we can continue onto Offensive Move Discussion (which has halted progress) and finish up from there.

I think we should try and keep the basis in mind for this project with the way he changed abilities.

With how he looks, I'd suggest he should have a Ghost+Normal typing. The normal typing should change based on what plate he holds, using the "Multitype" ability. We can rename the ability if we want to, but this makes us able to keep our general concept while making it possible to program.

I am curious what happens in the case of a ghost/ ghost type pokemon...

Well, it WOULD be possible to give him Multitype and have Normal/Plate Type.

Or we could go the more devastating route and have him Normal/Ghost and Adaptability :3

How about we take every ability in the game and combine them to make the best ability in the game.

Or Normal / Ghost Multitype, that ****'s cool too

I thought we always wanted Normal to be in the mix.

If that was the case, we'd have to use Ghost/Normal with Multitype (so Multitype changes Ghost).

Well that was the original theory behind Writer's ability. Since we have to stray away from that idea we can feel free to change it. Or we can wait for Writer's input on this.

Normal/Ghost w/ Multitype fits better all-around and I personally love it more than my own concept. I'm definitely in favor.

OK, so do we want normal to change type or Ghost type?

Depending on what we do, it'll significantly effect its movepool. For example, that ball of Aura will be Focus Blast as a ghost type when you go by GF standards, but as a Normal Type Aura Sphere is more acceptable, or whether it'll get pain split or not, etc.

So it's either Normal / Ghost with Multitype or Ghost / Normal with Multitype, right? We can have an in-thread poll if we can't decide on something as a whole.

Normal/Ghost with Multitype

There's two options. One changes the Normal typing with Multitype and the other changes the Ghost typing with Multitype.

The primary is the one that changes.

UltiMario, can we make new items? Because doing something like making the Silk Scarf act as a plate would be dumb. And it'd be trickable.

Looking at the items, no, you can't edit them, at least not with the knowledge that Ulti and I have now. Its probably hard wired into the system.

Abilities and Items are indeed hard-wired. We can't change them without editing the program and redistributing it.
