[SmashCAP 2]
Start date: 1/30/10
End date:--/--/--
Concept: Type Representation
Typing: Grass / Ghost
Ability: Shield Dust / Immunity

As the artwork stage comes to a close, I just wanna throw this out here to start the ol' brain thinking. Discuss Pokemon who you think would be able to counter / check / deal with SmashCAP 2.

Heatran is going to be able to counter SmashCAP 2 solidly regardless of whether or not it can get a burn. Heatran resists both STAB, and easily threatens with a Fire Blast / Overheat / Magma Storm.

Yeah it won't enjoy Stun Spore too much, but if it can get in safely and setub a Sub Heatran's all good to go.

Blissey is also going to have a fun time switching in, since SmashCAP 2 is designed to be specially oriented, and Blissey is immune to Ghost-.

Not really. All she needs to do is switch-in, Thunder Wave it and switch out before Toxic / Will-o-Wisp / Leech Seed do major damage.

Eggmanland, obviously.
Does SmashCAP 2 get Destiny Bond?

It would be a good idea to list the attacks it knows.

I'm just going off of STABs+All Statuses.

Honchkrow. In on Sleep powder.

Nasty Plot Krow is very very rare. Life Orb or at least Mixed variants are more common.

Scizor (and a whole hella other Pokemon) can easily come in if they don't worry about status.

So basically right now set checks / counters would be all of the following: Blissey.

Shaymin wouldn't really mind either right? It has Natural Cure, is immune to Leech Seed, and base 100 Sp Def isn't too bad for shaking of Ghost-STAB with Synthesis.

More people need to join this discussion.

Do you guys think this thing will be getting Sleep Powder?

If so this changes everything.

The appearence of thise guy also changes everything. A Tree form can grant acess to Earth Power or something, while a more Pixie form might let it get things like Wish or something.

Air Slash = Lame Hax.
Lame Hax = Togekiss.

Ahh yes, how could I forget about Togekiss. Resists Grass-, laughs at Ghost-. It wouldn't really enjoy status though.

Yup. First thing that came to mind.

But usually Air Slash = Togekiss.

Lum Berry could fix this though.

As well as:
Mence
Skarm
Crobat
and a whole lotta other pokes.

Of course, that's just a one-time thing. Most of those aren't going to switch-in with Lum for SmashCAP 2.

But what UltiMario said is important. If the artwork is so-and-so then the movepool will be different. For example, Skarmory wouldn't dare switch-in on SmashCAP 2 if it was the pumpkin version. Flamethrower'd.

It's a good idea to start churning ideas now though. Blissey and Togekiss still stand as solid counters / checks. SmashCAP 2 isn't going physical anytime soon.

crobat, poison fang(or any other poison type, thats just what comes to mind.), air slash, dark pulse, and some other fourth move. Cannot be poisoned, decent offense, and typing perfect againdt him. Unless he gos with the pixie-esque design. then he'd prolly learn pstchic and pwn crobat, so we need to finish the art thing 8D

I've already sent the stuff to Writer so it's only a matter of time before movepool discussions move up.

Crobat is also a viable check for SmashCAP 2. Special Crobat won't worry about the Attack drop as they can just blast it with Heat Wave. Paralysis may be something to worry about, however.

This is our artwork.

This doesn't generate much to the discussion, but it may give us an idea as to what moves it may or may not possess. JOE!'s submission would've given it Flamethrower, for example.

I'm also posting up the Name Submissions thread.

Earth Power takes care of non-Skarmory Steel-type Pokemon, Thunderbolt takes care of Skarmory Pokemon.

That thing doesn't seem like it'll be using Thunderbolt anytime soon.

The Earth Power I do see, however. It'll cause issues for Scizor, I presume.

Gardevoir =/= SmashCAP 2 in any way..

But yeah Froslass I guess makes sense.

I guess I said that because Grass-types typically don't get Electric-type moves?

Spritomb gets Shock Wave, no Thunderbolt.

Banette, Drifblim, Gengar, Mismagius, and the Giratinas get Thunderbolt. Rotom does, but that's irrelevant given its typing.

Spiritomb, Dusknoir, Sableye, Shedinja all don't.

So half-and-half. We'll decide on it when time comes.

BTW I sent the Name Poll stuff to UltiMario, so expect the poll to be up soon.
